Would you like to see more of our lore bible revealed?
We've only scratched the surface of what is public so far...
The best part of an MMO isn't always the combat.
It's exploring somewhere new, hunting for loot you want to show off, and meeting the players you end up logging in with.
That's the MMO feel we're building toward in Atia's Legacy.
What's your favorite part of an MMO?

We threw away our entire combat system.
Would any other #gamedevs do this, or is it just crazy?

When Chimera forces emerged from Lunacia’s ravines, the land itself was threatened.
Axies fought bravely, but corruption spread faster than blades could stop it.
Sapidae villages lay directly in the invasion’s path. Petrasense rang with warning. Spirit clay deposits near the surface trembled in response.
Shrine keepers hung Wind Bells near villages and Atia Shrines. The bells chimed when spirit clay became unstable, whispering warning of corruption or imminent evil through Lunacia’s wind.
Along supply routes, Gogo Snails appeared in clusters. Their humming shells marked stable ground untouched by corruption, guiding scouts and Axie forces alike.
When the Chimera threat reached open war, Sapidae artisans made a deliberate choice to reshape spirit clay for defense, not conquest. Clay was reinforced with stone and dense mineral veins. Spirit fragments were chosen carefully for endurance and stability, never for rage or hunger.
These creations became Sentinel Pot Golems, guardians built to stand, shield, and hold ground where flesh could not. They were not made to replace Axies in battle, but to fight beside them, forming living bulwarks that allowed Axie warriors to advance and retreat without being overwhelmed.
Sentinel Pot Golems abs orbed Chimera strikes that would have shattered Axie bodies, carried wounded Axies from the battlefield, and advanced steadily through corruption and fire without hatred or fear. Their simple faces showed no fury, only purpose.
Sapidae commanders coordinated through Hat Golems, translating Lunacia’s warnings across the battlefield, while Wind Bells rang whenever spirit clay beneath the ground became unstable. In this way, Sapidae guided the flow of battle without commanding it.
Spirit Clay was not turned into a weapon.
It was shaped into resistance, so Axies could continue the fight and Lunacia could endure.
During the Battle of the Blood Moon, Sentinel Pot Golems fought alongside Axie warbands until their spirit clay bodies fractured and returned to the soil. Some were gathered and reforged after the fighting ended. Others were buried where they fell, entrusted back to Lunacia as guardians who had fulfilled their purpose.
Axies held the front lines while Sapidae guided the flow of battle from behind. Through Hat Golems, Sapidae commanders translated Lunacia’s warnings, steering Axie movements away from collapsing ground and rising corruption. Sentinel Pot Golems stood between them, absorbing blows meant for living bodies and holding corridors long enough for Axies to regroup.
Wind Bells rang throughout the night, their tones shifting as the battle dragged on. At times they rang in warning, at times in grief, and at times with a strange, unfamiliar resonance, as if responding to something far beyond the battlefield. Some Sapidae felt their petrasense stretch upward, drawn toward the blood-red moon hanging low above Lunacia.
At dawn, Gogo Snails emerged onto the scorched ground, tracing slow spirals across shattered earth. Wherever they passed, the spirit clay beneath the surface cooled and settled, as if the land itself were bracing for what was to come.
The Sapidae do not debate whether the golems won the battle. Nor do the Axies claim victory. Together, they had held the line.
Above them, the moon burned red, and somewhere within the chaos of the war, a final, devastating choice was about to be made.
