Today is Rick Allen's 63rd birthday! 🥁 We celebrate him as Def Leppard performs "Bad Motor Scooter" with Sammy Hagar.
Rick lost his arm while driving his Corvette at 21 years old, when he lost control while trying to pass another car, hit a dry stone wall, and rolled the vehicle.
He worked with electronic drum engineers and producer Mutt Lange to design a custom kit that let him trigger arm-function sounds using a series of specialized foot pedals.
He returned to performing live with Def Leppard in August 1986 and played on the band's massive hit album Hysteria (1987).
More than three years since their last full concert, Aerosmith returned to the stage for a victorious comeback featuring an impressive array of special guests, including Guns N’ Roses, Heart, Billy Idol, the Black Crowes and Sammy Hagar. Full story below ⬇️
