Good news, Apple released Security Update 2021-003 Catalina yesterday for 10.15.7, and it appears to have fixed the regression which broke Acorn 6 and below. You can grab it from Software Update in Sys Prefs.
I will now try to (unsuccessfully) forget this ever happened.

PSA: The latest security update for 10.15.7 seems to have broken Acorn very badly, and I’m investigating what’s going on. Looks like OpenCL is broken, which Acorn 6 relies on.
Acorn 7.0.3 has been released with bug fixes and a couple of other changes. Full release notes are available as always: flyingmeat.com/acorn/release…
