It is deeply troubling to see Americans brazenly assaulted and forcefully removed from a public place simply for expressing an idea. (Let alone such a mainstream idea as “Save Women's Sports”!)
When it comes to the long-term preservation of liberty, culture matters. The prevailing ideas of ordinary people will inevitably shape our courts, legislatures, and laws.
And what’s happening in Portland is not a culture of free speech.
A free-speech culture allows both sides of an issue to be heard, not just one. A free-speech culture responds to words with words, not with violence and forceful silencing. A free-speech culture doesn’t reflexively equate disagreement with hatred.
The culture festering in Portland looks less like American liberty and more like totalitarianism. We should take it seriously.
This isn’t just a story about women’s sports. It’s a cultural contest about the totalitarian impulse to redefine reality—and the future of free speech itself.
I was just forcefully removed from a @ThornsFC game for the crime of wearing an @xx_xyathletics t-shirt. I am in shock. We peacefully wore our shirts. We were assaulted by fans. Then WE were forced to leave – with FORCE by stadium security. I am utterly in shock.

As the CHOOSE Act increases educational freedom for families across the state, API’s Opportunity Anchors Initiative will equip communities with well-researched, comprehensive resources to facilitate the launch of micro-schools, cooperatives, and other learning programs to meet growing demand for alternative education options.
Education is the formation of the next generation, and the CHOOSE Act is expanding options for families across the state.
For the 2026-27 school year, more than 34,000 students received approval, and approved education savings accounts totaled more than $174 million. Awards provide $7,000 per student at participating schools or $2,000 for home education, capped at $4,000 per family.
API supports protecting full funding for the program and expanding access so that every family who wishes to participate in the future can do so.
