🇪🇺 HEAT NOW KILLS MORE IN EUROPE THAN GUNS DO IN AMERICA
According to the WHO, extreme heat causes over 175,000 deaths every year across Europe.
In comparison, around 48,000 Americans died from gun-related injuries in 2021, per CDC data.
That means heat in Europe is claiming more than 3x the lives guns do in the U.S. - every single year.
Experts say Europe’s aging population, urban heat islands, and lack of widespread air conditioning all play a role.
And with climate change pushing temps higher each summer, those numbers are only expected to rise.
This isn’t just about summer discomfort. It’s turning deadly fast.

Cities across Europe saw temps soar past 40°C while wildfires raged in France and Spain.
Scientists say most heat deaths aren’t even officially reported, but the toll was clear: extreme heat pushed bodies past their limits.
Western Europe just had its hottest June ever, and last month was the planet’s third-hottest June on record.

My heart, however, will forever remain a shade of Tiffany blue—these years have shaped the person and leader I am today.
