Director/Composer Katy Jarzebowski says "getting to collaborate with Skywalker foley artist Shelley Roden in this intensely creative and musical capacity for SO CLOSE was a peak artistic experience for me. We wanted the foley to feel as much a part of the score as the sound design. It felt natural to speak musically on the foley stage - ‘piannissimo’ this or ‘more staccato’ that, and in terms of emotions rather than strictly diegetic onscreen action."
