Defence Sec Wes Streeting tells @AnnaJonesSky he "strongly" supports Rachel Reeves' call to unfreeze Russian assets. "We've got to go after those Russian assets... I've been talking to my NATO counterparts about what more we can do in this area so that was music to my ears."
Britain and its allies must be resolute in our support for Ukraine. Today I have written with former ministers from Germany, France and Canada urging immediate action to use seized Russian sovereign assets to help Kyiv in its defence.

Defence Secretary Wes Streeting tells @AnnaJonesSky "defence has been the big winner in the budget" 🧐with other departments doing the "heavy lifting to make sure we prioritise defence". He rejects criticsm about the lack of detail on where the extra £11bn to hit 3% by 2030 will be found. "We're going to have to look at spending in the round and so it's right to do that at the spending review."

🚨Exclusive: 'He grabbed me by the arm' and 'shoved me out of the way' - 'It's just absolutely fantasy to say that it was the Liberal Democrats that started it.' Lib Dem MP @CarolineVoaden tells me she was 'startled' after a physical altercation with Nigel Farage during the state opening of parliament The South Devon MP says she reported what happened to the Sergeant at Arms, who told her Farage had been told to apologise (but she says she has never received one). Reform maintains 'it's not true at all' and 'this is typical Lib Dem dishonesty in an attempt to stay relevant', while the Lib Dem frontbencher @mpmwilko backs up Voaden's account.
The MP involved in a “physical altercation” with Nigel Farage says it’s “absolutely fantasy” that the Lib Dems started it. Caroline Voaden told Sky’s @LucyJMcDaid she was “startled” by the exchange in May. Reform says the allegations are “not true at all”

Baroness Carmen Smith's bill calling for a consultation on replacing the House of Lords with a new more representative second chamber has passed - it will now go to commitee stage.
The youngest member of the House of Lords is on a mission to destroy it from within. Baroness Carmen Smith is using a private members bill to try to force the government to consult people on replacing the 700-year-old House of Lords with an alternative second chamber that is more representative of the nations and regions. Sky's @amandaakass reports.
