What does it take to turn AI’s potential into meaningful business impact across a field-focused organization of approximately 3,100 employees?
At the EFCG CEO Conference, Atlas CEO Jacqueline (Jacque) Hinman joined fellow industry leaders for “The CEO’s AI Moment: Lead It or Lose Ground,” a panel exploring the leadership decisions behind successful AI adoption.
In her latest thought leadership article, Jacque shares five pillars guiding Atlas’ enterprise approach: executive ownership, strong governance, workforce adoption, process and data redesign and human oversight.
Her perspective is clear: the firms that realize the potential of AI will be those that treat adoption as a leadership commitment — not simply a technology rollout.

A meaningful career starts with knowing your ideas can make a difference.
For Olivia Guo, that possibility stood out when she joined Atlas shortly after graduating. She found that people were willing to listen and that contributing did not depend on how long she had been with the company or what title she held.
“If you have a thoughtful perspective, you can have a voice.”
When people with different experiences are encouraged to contribute, we can bring those perspectives together, find better solutions and make Atlas stronger.

What will separate the firms that create lasting value from AI from those that simply adopt new technology?
That's one of the critical questions industry leaders will explore at the Environmental Financial Consulting Group (EFCG) CEO Conference, the AEC industry's premier gathering of executive leaders.
Atlas CEO Jacqueline (Jacque) Hinman will join fellow CEOs for the panel discussion, "The CEO's AI Moment: Lead It or Lose Ground," focused on the leadership decisions shaping the future of our industry.
As AI continues to transform how businesses operate, success will depend on more than technology alone. It will require leaders who can drive adoption, empower their teams, navigate change and create cultures where innovation thrives.
Bringing together more than 250 CEOs from across the AEC industry, the EFCG CEO Conference Sept. 30 - Oct. 2, provides a unique forum for tackling today's most important business opportunities and challenges. Jacque will share how Atlas is approaching AI and emerging technologies to enhance decision-making, improve efficiency and create long-term value for employees, clients and communities.
We're excited to see Jacque representing Atlas and contributing to one of the most important conversations shaping the future of the AEC industry.

One of the best ways to be a stronger partner is to listen.
Last week, Atlas had the privilege of welcoming Albert V. Shelby III, Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) Director of Program Delivery, to our Duluth office as part of his GDOT Roadshow.
More than 50 transportation engineers, project managers and leaders joined the discussion to hear Albert's perspectives on the programs, priorities and opportunities helping shape transportation across Georgia.
Opportunities like this provide valuable insight into the goals, challenges and vision of the agencies and communities we serve. Hearing directly from transportation leaders helps us better understand the priorities that guide project delivery and strengthens the partnerships that support meaningful infrastructure investments throughout the state.
We appreciate Albert taking the time to share his knowledge and engage with our team. Special thanks to Todd Long, PE, PTOE, South Atlantic Division Lead and former GDOT leader, for introducing Albert and helping welcome him to Atlas.
We are grateful for the opportunity to learn from our clients and proud to support GDOT's mission of improving mobility and connectivity for communities across Georgia.

🚧 The future of transportation is built through collaboration.
Next week, transportation leaders, DOT professionals and industry partners from across the western United States will gather in Las Vegas for the Western Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (WASHTO) Annual Conference to exchange ideas, tackle challenges and help shape the future of mobility. As a proud corporate sponsor, Atlas is excited to be part of the conversation.
Transportation infrastructure does more than move people and goods. It connects communities to opportunity, supports economic growth and improves quality of life.
Across the country, Atlas helps agencies and project partners deliver the infrastructure communities depend on every day. In Texas, Atlas has served as an independent quality partner on TxDOT's I-35 Northeast Expansion (NEX) Program since 2021, providing oversight across multiple phases of one of the state's most significant transportation investments. Designed to improve safety, reduce congestion and support long-term mobility, the program is helping modernize a critical corridor for the San Antonio region while reflecting the kind of complex infrastructure challenges our teams help solve every day.
If you're attending WASHTO, connect with Kara Swanson, Jacob Beedle P.E., CFM, Brook Corney, CCM and K.D. Warach, PE, MBA, DBIA.

Transforming underutilized properties into vibrant community assets takes more than technical expertise; it takes partnership, trust and a shared vision for what’s possible.
Last week in Oracle, Arizona, Atlas joined community members, partners and stakeholders at The Secret Garden Collective, where an abandoned elementary school is being reimagined into a hub for education, wellness and connection. Supported through the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality Brownfields Program, the project shows how communities can address environmental challenges while opening the door to new opportunities.
The site tour brought together key partners, including Manny Guzman, Executive Director of Rebuild Superior, a nonprofit housed in the former Superior High School that Atlas helped redevelop through the same program.
Together, these projects reflect a repeatable model for revitalization — transforming underutilized sites into spaces that serve people, strengthen local economies and create new opportunities for small businesses emerging from within the community.
"What stood out during the visit was seeing how these efforts continue to grow and create meaningful change over time,” said Teresa Harris, CEM, Atlas Principal Scientist. “Having been part of redevelopment in Superior, Globe and the greater copper corridor, and now seeing the momentum in Oracle, it’s inspiring to witness how these projects connect communities, strengthen local partnerships and help create opportunities that will benefit generations to come.”
Experiences like this highlight the impact of community-led redevelopment and what’s possible when momentum turns into lasting impact.

Some recognition is about a moment. Others reflect years in the making.
We’re proud to share that Sally Riker, F. SAME was recognized with the first-ever SAME Foundation President’s Medal — an honor that speaks to her long-standing commitment to service, leadership and the mission of the Society of American Military Engineers.
For Sally, the recognition isn’t about individual achievement.
“It’s humbling. But it doesn’t feel like something you achieve on your own. It reflects years of people working together. It’s shared.”
That perspective has guided her involvement with SAME from the very beginning, starting with a local Post meeting early in her career, when she was “voluntold” to serve on the board, and choosing to say yes before she knew where it would lead.
Since then, that one decision has grown into decades of leadership, service and impact, supporting scholarships, mentoring emerging professionals, advancing STEM outreach and helping shape leadership development programs across the industry.
It’s also what guided her work helping bring the Soaring Eagle Award to life, recognizing not just what leaders deliver, but how they lead and lift others along the way.
“You’re not just participating; you’re helping create opportunities for someone else.”
At Atlas, we see that same mindset in everything Sally does, from building relationships, creating opportunities and thinking long-term about both projects and people.
Congratulations, Sally! We’re proud of the impact you’ve made and continue to make.
