Trump, Musk and their billionaire friends are spending huge amounts lying about Abdul El-Sayed in Michigan and Angie Nixon in Florida.
Why? Because they have no agenda to help working people. So they resort to Islamophobia, red-baiting and fear-mongering.
NOT GONNA WORK
RACISM AND FEAR-MONGERING
As we enter the last days of this campaign, it is becoming increasingly clear that Trump and his Republican allies have virtually nothing to say about the enormous crises facing our country. Think about it:
Unprecedented income and wealth inequality. Nothing to say.
60% of our people living paycheck to paycheck. Nothing to say.
The highest rate of child poverty of any major country. Nothing to say.
A broken, dysfunctional and wildly expensive healthcare system. Nothing to say.
A corrupt campaign finance system in which billionaires buy elections. Nothing to say.
The existential threat of climate change. Nothing to say.
An uncontrolled AI run by the wealthiest people on earth. Nothing to say.
So, if you are unable to address the issues that impact tens of millions of American families, what do you do? What kind of campaign do you run?
You do what demagogues over the ages have always done. You resort to fear-mongering, racism and dividing people up. That is exactly what Trump, Vance and Republican candidates are doing.
I did a rally in Michigan last week with Abdul. In the 20 minutes I was watching television in Grand Rapids there were 5 disgusting and racist ads against him. Five ads in 20 minutes! According to the ads, Abdul was unfit to serve in the U.S. Senate because he is a Muslim, a “terrorist,” a “jihadist” and God knows what else.
In Florida, the Republican campaign against Angie Nixon and her supporters is that Angie is a “communist” who hates our country and does not believe in freedom. Lies, lies and more lies.
There are four days left in this campaign — the most important midterm election in modern history. We have to defeat the most dangerous president in American history. We have got to defeat the lies, fear-mongering and racism of the Republican Party.
Let’s do it.
If Democrats regain control of Congress, we need an agenda that works for working people:
Medicare for All
$20 an hour minimum wage
Overturn Citizens United and end billionaire-funded super PACs
End Trump's war in Iran
End military aid to the Israeli government
Sergey Brin, Google’s co-founder worth $231 billion, is spending $102 million against a 5% billionaire wealth tax in California known as Prop 40.
This is how much Mr. Brin has paid in income taxes:
2019: $0
2020: $0
2023: $0
California: Say NO to greed and oligarchy.
Vote for Prop 40.
Minnesotans inspired the world when they stood up to Trump’s domestic army ICE.
Now, they can do it again by sending Peggy Flanagan to the Senate.
Peggy comes from the working class and will fight for the working class.
Let’s send her to the Senate.
Angie Nixon is on fire.
She pulled off a huge upset in her Florida primary, and she’s going to do it again on Tuesday.
Let’s take on Musk and the billionaires. Let’s get out the vote and elect Angie Nixon to the U.S. Senate!
Mr. President, instead of spewing racist hatred against Abdul, explain to the American people why you:
- Gave the top 1% $1 trillion in tax cuts
- Threw 15 million Americans off the healthcare they had
- Unleashed brutal ICE raids
- Dragged us into an illegal war with Iran
Mr. Rogers: We don’t need another senator who will “protect” & “shield” the richest man alive. Musk’s doing just fine.
We need a senator who will protect 60% of Americans living paycheck to paycheck, not the world’s first trillionaire.
Stop Oligarchy. Vote for Abdul El-Sayed.
Trump promised to “Drain the Swamp.” Then he made $2 billion off the presidency.
He promised to “Make America Healthy Again.” Then he took healthcare from 15 million people.
He promised “No More Wars.” Then he attacked Iran.
Say NO to Trump. Say NO to a Republican Congress.
Trump is the most dangerous president in our history.
He's an authoritarian who does not believe in the rule of law.
This election is not about Ds vs. Rs.
It's about whether we maintain a rubber-stamp GOP Congress that aids and abets Trump — or finally hold him accountable.
Why are Elon Musk and other billionaires flooding the airwaves with Islamophobic ads against Abdul?
Because they have nothing to say about the issues that matter to working people: healthcare, climate, AI and foreign policy.
WE WILL NOT LET THEM DIVIDE US
AIPAC is spending $9 million in Michigan to elect Mike Rogers.
Meanwhile, according to a Washington Post poll, a majority of voters there — including 61% of independents — want to end or reduce military aid to Israel.
LET'S ELECT ABDUL AND END ALL MILITARY AID TO ISRAEL
Billionaires in California are spending $333 million to wage a war.
Against what?
Homelessness? No.
Cancer? No.
Child poverty? No.
They’re waging war against a 5% billionaire wealth tax.
They’d rather poor kids with cancer die than pay a little more in taxes. That is obscene.
Since Trump’s election:
-Musk got $680 billion richer
-Musk became the 1st trillionaire
-SpaceX got $10 billion in federal contracts
-Tesla & SpaceX paid $0 in federal income taxes
Now, Musk’s spending $442 million to keep Republicans in control of Congress.
Gee, I wonder why?
Young people will live longest with the consequences of AI, climate change and our broken political system. They deserve a voice in shaping their future.
Today I’m in Ann Arbor with Abdul-El Sayed talking to college students about how we fight back. teapawt.net/i/broadcasts/1OxwbnXyp…
Wow. What a turnout. In a town of 10,000, in a county Trump won by almost 30 points, nearly 1,000 came out in support of Abdul El-Sayed.
Alpena, MI, thanks very much.
Today I’m in the town of Alpena, Michigan, to talk to working people about why Abdul El-Sayed should be the next Senator from Michigan. teapawt.net/i/broadcasts/1AKEmvgdz…
The billionaires may have unlimited amounts of money, but we have something far more powerful. We have the people.
I'll be in Ann Arbor tonight with @AbdulElSayed for the Students vs. Billionaires Town Hall. Join us to fight for a government that works for all, not just the 1%.
