Kyle Franz, one of the profession’s most in-demand designers, is in the process of shaping bunkers and greens at this new golf club between Austin & San Antonio. The property’s potential is outstanding with sweeping meadows and rolling contour, but the most interesting aspects are the myriad barrancas that network the property ranging from three to 30 feet in depth. Franz’s design uses them and chains of bunkers to create alternate fairways and optional routes of play on nearly every hole.

Following the bunker renovation of the James River Course in 23-24, CC of Virginia is renovating its Tuckahoe Creek course under the direction of architect Andrew Green. The Tuckahoe Creek Course was designed by Joe Lee & opened on April 15, 1988. Once an old farmstead, this large parcel of land encompasses 240+ acres & was part of Thomas Jefferson's boyhood home when he resided at Tuckahoe.

Took a spin around the renovated Pine Trace track last week and it’s looking good! The Signature 700 blend from @best_sand really looks sharp. New bunkers, new putting surfaces, updated tees and tree removal has made a huge difference @APlaskey
Pro/Angle Bunker Sand featured in the bunkers on the renovation project which is phase one of a project led by Jim Fazio to transform Lionheart into a spectacular 18-hole golf course. This, along with a multi-million-dollar investment in new or upgraded facilities, clubhouse, & pro shop/golf center will have Lionheart rivaling with the best clubs in Connecticut.
