The $XRP Ledger could soon let your compliance team freeze a flagged holder without the issuer's keys 29 of 35 validators vote yes and the earliest activation is Oct 8, but one vote could still push that date back 1/25🧵

I think a world where XRPL is highly successful in financial applications but XRP does not have high demand and value is very unlikely. About the only way that could happen would be if we wound up in a world with one totally dominant settlement asset. That seems unlikely to me.

Using crypto gains to buy real estate is a common move, and the tax and titling questions trip people up. Selling crypto to fund it is a taxable disposition. Whose name the property goes into matters. The move can be smart. Doing it without planning gets expensive.

To the RIAs and wealth managers: treat a crypto-heavy client as a relationship to keep, not a problem to dodge. You don't have to custody digital assets or become a defi expert. A sub-advisory sleeve has the infrastructure, and you stay the advisor of record.

One reason advisors hesitate on crypto is the company it keeps: retail exchanges, leverage, whatever's trending that week. Fair enough. A sub-advisory sleeve is a different animal. A managed allocation, not an app you point a client at.

A lot of RIA and CPA firms don't need to build a crypto practice. They need a desk they can lean on for the part they aren't set up to run. You keep the client, the plan, the return. The crypto piece stops being the thing you hope nobody brings up.
