The Orionid meteor shower, created by tiny pieces of debris from Halley's Comet, peaks on the night of Oct. 21 - 22. Your best chance to see them comes a few hours before dawn, after the bright Moon sets. Find a dark location, give your eyes time to adjust, and look up.

After Artemis II, an analysis was done on the Orion spacecraft’s heat shield, confirming that it performed as expected. At NASA Marshall, we worked on sample extraction and internal X-ray scans that provided further engineering insight. Read more >> go.nasa.gov/4zBNcUO

This morning’s launch was scrubbed due to rough weather out at sea where the booster lands, so a spectacular “space jellyfish” could now be visible across Florida and parts of Georgia and the Carolinas early Tuesday morning following a SpaceX launch from Cape Canaveral... With liftoff scheduled for 6:30 AM EDT, the timing is perfect for the rocket’s expanding exhaust plume to catch high-altitude sunlight while it remains dark on the ground. The most vivid display will occur between 6:34 and 6:38 AM as the rocket heads southeast toward engine cutoff. Florida will have the greatest chances of seeing this cool phenomenon, and skies look mostly clear for Orlando, Tampa and Jacksonville!

#ICYMI: The booster's for NASA's Artemis III mission are officially stacked! Next up, the SLS core stage will be integrated with the boosters, completing the rocket’s “short stack” configuration that will be used during a future tanking test. Learn more: go.nasa.gov/4BcsSLa

Trust is the real “fuel” of every mission. We had trust in the tech, trust in the team, and I trust in God. Easy to say after the fact, but we lived it. Thank you 🙏🏾💙🧡🇺🇸

Cementing their names in history. The Artemis III crew is leaving their mark — literally. The astronauts recently signed their names on the hardware that will be inside their Orion spacecraft during their low Earth orbit mission, launching in 2027.

That light to the left of the rocket, appearing to go down the screen: that is the International Space Station traveling overhead, 250 miles above the Earth's surface, 17,500 mph. This is an ISS resupply mission, which is why you can see the ISS at the same time as the launch.
