વડાપ્રધાનશ્રી નરેન્દ્રભાઇ મોદીએ એકતાનગર ખાતેથી મિશન લાઇફનું ગ્લોબલ લોચિંગ કરતા જણાવ્યું કે, ભારત આજે સમગ્ર વિશ્વમાં પ્રગતિ અને પ્રકૃતિ વચ્ચે સંતુલનનું ઉત્તમ ઉદાહરણ બની રહ્યું છે.
દેશમાં વન વિસ્તાર વધવા સાથે વન્ય જીવોની સંખ્યામાં પણ વૃદ્ધ થઇ રહી છે.

"પુનઃપ્રાપ્ય ઊર્જા અને પર્યાવરણ સંરક્ષણની દિશામાં પગલાં શરૂ કરનાર ગુજરાત દેશનું પ્રથમ રાજ્ય છે. રાજ્યના દુષ્કાળગ્રસ્ત વિસ્તારો માટે નહેરો પર સોલાર પેનલ લગાવવાની હોય કે પછી જળ સંરક્ષણની યોજનાઓ શરૂ કરવાની હોય, ગુજરાત હંમેશા અગ્રણી અને ટ્રેન્ડસેટર સ્ટેટ તરીકે આગળ આવ્યું છે."

વડાપ્રધાનશ્રીએ વીજળીના બીલ ઘટાડવા અને પર્યાવરણની સુરક્ષા માટે ભારતમાં LED બલ્બ અપનાવવાનું ઉદાહરણ આપતા જણાવ્યું કે, આનાથી મોટા પાયે બચત અને પર્યાવરણીય લાભો થયા અને આ એક પુનરાવર્તિત કાયમી લાભ છે. પ્રતિ વર્ષ એક સો મેટ્રીક ટન કાર્બન ઉત્સર્જનથી બચી શકાય છે.
