Capital Markets Authority (@CmaUganda ) is honoured to join our partners, @ICPAU1 for the 2026 FiRe Awards🏆, tonight, under the theme, “ Driving Sustainability Reporting through Technology and Innovation.” Representing the CEO, CMA’s Director of Research and Market Development, Dickson Ssembuya, congratulated @ICPAU1 on another year of championing quality financial reporting. “…markets run on trust, and trust runs on information. Investors commit their savings only when they can see clearly what they are investing in. That is why the CMA has supported the FiRe Awards for so long,” he explained. He further added that Uganda’s Tenfold Growth Strategy will need long-term capital, which capital flows to companies that report with clarity, credibility and foresight. @CmaUganda congratulates all the participants and winners recognized tonight, for setting the standard. Your reports show that transparency is not a burden but a competitive advantage. #ICPAUFiReAwards26

The Capital Markets Authority (@CmaUganda) was honoured to join Bank of Uganda ( @BOU_Official ) at the launch of the 3rd Strategy for Financial Literacy in Uganda (2026–2031) on 31 October 2026, as part of the World Savings Day celebrations at Speke Resort Munyonyo, Kampala. The strategy aims to build financial capability for household resilience and inclusive growth by driving deeper digitalisation, wider inclusion, stronger behavioural change and more coordinated delivery of financial education across the country. As the Strategy moves into implementation, it speaks directly to CMA’s focus on increasing stakeholder awareness and understanding of capital markets to broaden participation and strengthen investor confidence. In her remarks, our Communications & PR Manager, Lyn Tukei, noted that through CMA’s investor education mandate, the Authority is making efforts to achieve inclusivity by targeting population groups who are unaware of the investment opportunities in the capital markets, and how to invest safely and prudently. The Authority remains committed to working with regulators, partners and the media to build an informed, confident and inclusive investor base for Uganda’s capital markets. Save today. Learn. Invest wisely. #30YearInvestor #WorldSavingsDay @mofpedU @ilo @ibfsUg

🚨 Digital Deception & Scam Alert 🚨 @CmaUganda’s Olive Amon Ojom (Market Supervision Manager) shares critical tips on how you can protect yourself from scammers. “Licensed” is the word scammers love to use. But anyone can say they’re licensed. 🚩 Before you invest, remember these three things: 1️⃣ Verify the license. Ask for the license number. Ask who issued it. Then check it with the regulator (Capital Markets Authority). If they can’t or won’t show you, that tells you everything you need to know. 2️⃣ Do your due diligence. Ugandan investors, this is not extra work, it’s part of the decision. Check the firm on the CMA list of licensed and approved persons (cmauganda.co.ug), confirm it’s licensed for what it’s selling you, and ask questions before you part with any money. ‼️Skip this step and you’re gambling with your savings. 3️⃣ Beware of “guaranteed” high returns. Real investments carry risk. A guarantee of big returns with no verifiable track record should worry you, not excite you. If nobody can show you where the returns come from, the money is probably coming from the next person they’re about to convince. Protect your savings & investments. Share this with someone who needs to see it. 📲 #ScamAlert #CMAUganda #InvestorProtection #WIW2026 #30YearInvestor

Q&A: Why Uganda’s Fund Managers Are Multiplying: CMA Explains Uganda’s Fund-Management Rush Uganda’s licensed fund managers doubled from nine to 18 between September 2024 and June 2026. Yet two managers still held about 71% of collective investment scheme assets, while assets grew twice as fast as account numbers in the June quarter. What is attracting new managers, and how far can greater competition reduce fees and bring more ordinary savers into the market? @CmaUganda's Lyn Tukei explains the drivers, opportunities and limits of Uganda’s fund-management expansion. Over the weekend, @CMAUganda brought capital markets education closer to farming communities, highlighting how saving, investing and accessing appropriate financing can contribute to individual prosperity and agricultural development. This happened during the ‘Seeds of Gold’ radio talkshow and farm clinic held in Fort Portal on Friday 23rd and Saturday 24th October, respectively, in partnership with Nation Media Group (@ntvuganda ) and the National Agricultural Research Organisation (@narouganda) Our Director Research & Market Development, Dickson Ssembuya engaged participants on how they can put their savings to work through regulated investment options such as Collective Investment Schemes (unit trusts) and Government securities. Farmers and agribusiness owners also learnt about opportunities to access financing through capital markets, including private equity and venture capital, which can support business growth and expansion. The engagement brought together farmers from the Tooro and Rwenzori sub-regions, alongside students pursuing agricultural studies, to explore practical ways of improving agricultural productivity, growing agribusinesses and increasing household incomes. This is one of the many ways CMA continues to advance its mandate of promoting investor education, expanding participation in Uganda’s capital markets and connecting more Ugandans to investment opportunities as we mark 30 years of regulating, protecting and growing Uganda’s capital markets.
