Crowned King as a young boy, unaware of the weight of the crown or the roles that lay before him, he was guided by the Regents who stood by his side. Slowly, steadily, he grew into the King the world came to love, a King who stood firmly for his causes, cherished his culture, and carried a deep love for the people of Tooro. His presence spoke volumes. His devotion to his people and heritage stood out. He became more than a King; he became a symbol of culture, pride and hope. 𝐁𝐮𝐭 𝐧𝐨𝐰, 𝐡𝐞 𝐢𝐬 𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫. IGG URGES NEWLY RECRUITED INSPECTORATE OFFICERS TO UPHOLD INTEGRITY, PROFESSIONALISM AND TEAMWORK The Inspector General of Government (IGG), Lady Justice Naluzze Aisha Batala, has welcomed newly recruited Inspectorate Officers to the @IGGUganda during an induction training at the Civil Service College, Jinja. The five-day training, which began on 31stAugust 2026, is aimed at equipping the new officers with a deeper understanding of the Inspectorate's mandate, values, systems and expectations. Welcoming the officers, the IGG congratulated them upon their appointment and reminded them that joining the Inspectorate comes with a great responsibility, given its critical role in promoting good governance, transparency, accountability, integrity and anti-corruption. “You have not simply joined another public institution. You have joined an institution whose work directly affects the lives of citizens and the quality of public service delivery in our country,” she said. Lady Justice Naluzze emphasised that integrity, professionalism and teamwork must define their work, saying, “the public expects us to be fair. They expect us to be professional. They expect us to act without fear or favour. Treat your colleagues with respect, share knowledge and learn from one another.” She also urged the officers to take personal responsibility for their work by being punctual, meeting deadlines, maintaining proper records, protecting official information and following established procedures. The IGG reminded the new officers that the Inspectorate ultimately exists to serve the people of Uganda, and that their work can have a direct impact on public service delivery and national development. She encouraged the officers to embrace continuous learning and professional development, particularly as the nature of corruption evolves and technology creates new opportunities for both service delivery and abuse. The IGG challenged the new officers to be agents of positive change within the institution and to continuously seek better ways of serving citizens. Ms. Savia Mugwanya, the Commissioner Civil Service College Uganda, also an @IGGUganda Appointments Board Member representing @mopsuganda welcomed the IGG to the college and commended the Inspectorate for organising the induction programme. Ms. Mugwanya urged the newly recruited officers to make full use of the knowledge and skills gained during the training and challenged them to become exemplary public officers in the execution of their duties. #ExposeCorruption

For 47 years, I served my country. Through war and peace, triumph and loss, I presented myself for duty. I wore the uniform with pride, knowing that behind it was the trust of millions of Ugandans. Along the way, I lost brothers. I made lifelong friends. I witnessed Uganda change, struggle, and rise. I carry every memory with me. I retire with a heart full of gratitude. To the men and women with whom I served, thank you. To the fallen, I will never forget you. To my family, thank you for sharing me with the nation. And to Uganda, thank you for giving me the honour of serving you. My love for Uganda will never retire. One final salute. For God and My Country.
