🆕 ONE Championship has released five fighters, including Luo Chao and Nat “Wondergirl” Jaroonsak, the Bangkok Post understands. Mohamed Younes Rabah, Shinji Suzuki and Regan Upshaw are the other departures. Sources said all five were informed on Friday morning and wished well, with the door open to returns if they rebuild momentum outside the promotion. Their official roster pages on the promotion's website have been updated to reflect their status. Chinese kickboxer Luo, 25, exits after his 9.4lb weight miss cost him a ONE Samurai 4 semi-final against Marat Grigorian. He weighed 164.4lb against the featherweight limit of 155lb. Grigorian advanced without fighting and will face Masaaki Noiri, with the tournament winner guaranteed a shot at Superbon’s title. Medical reasons were primarily cited for Thai fighter Jaroonsak’s release. The 27-year-old leaves after three consecutive defeats, having last fought for ONE in February 2024. Algerian Muay Thai fighter Rabah, 29, departs after losses to Luke Lessei and Ricardo Bravo, finishing his ONE run with two wins, three losses and one no contest. Japanese striker Suzuki, 40, leaves after three straight defeats and four losses from five ONE appearances, most recently against Ferrari Fairtex in June. American heavyweight Upshaw, 28, was knocked out by Paul Elliott in six seconds in June. His only ONE appearance was also his professional MMA debut.
