TRADITION – Gord Franson has been a volunteer with the Calgary Stampede for 15 years and has supported five committees during his tenure! One of the current committees he volunteers for is the Historical Committee, where he plays a key role in sharing Stampede’s storied history.
“The Calgary Stampede makes Calgary unique in providing a meeting place and an event that combines our history, our hopes and our sense of place in such a dramatic way. Very few organizations in the world have the tradition and dynamism that the Calgary Stampede offers every day and more importantly when hosting the ten-day event.”
We applaud Gord and the 3,000+ Calgary Stampede volunteers this International Year of the Volunteer for carrying the torch and continuing to share Stampede's story!
