Our former presenter John Shires died at the age of 71 on Wednesday 1 July. For 32 years brought his wit and extensive knowledge to households across the region. A tribute to our friend who'll be sorely missed by us all.

Proud to host as 200 women gathered for a fun, emotional and inspiring day to support fantastic Martin House Children’s Hospice.
It was such a lovely day in the grounds of Hazlewood Castle.
The spring sunshine came out as we heard from CEO @ceholdsworth about the Hospice’s plans as it undergoes an expansion to help even more children, young people and their families in their time of need.
Well done to everyone involved, to all the Hospice team, the volunteers, all the supporters and a brilliant audience of women! You were amazing! 🤩 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
My admiration and love knows no bounds for these two amazing women, and now dear friends ,Joan Lawrence and @clairethrossell , for whom #MothersDay is always hard, yet they continue to smile and bravely fight on for their children. Joan faces 16 years this week with no answers to what happened to her missing daughter Claudia who disappeared without trace on March 18th 2009. She fights constantly to keep her name in the public eye in the hope someone with bring her vital information.
This week also marked a milestone in Claire’s long fight to change the law in memory of her two sons Jack and Paul who were murdered by her ex, their father in 2014 during a custody visit. The Court and Tribunal Bill, which aims to end the “presumption of contact” where a child could be at risk of harm, passed its second reading on Tuesday and now goes to Committee stage.
It was lovely to catch up for lunch this week with them and @mrawlins1974 who has also followed their stories over many years.
