I believe I’ll be at the top of the FOMO leaderboard in the next month doing nothing other than holding this bag
Follow me to watch it happen ➡️ fomo.family/r/CryptoKaleo
Wtf
Worst luck in a short span I’ve ever seen for any franchise in the NBA or any other sport
Thunder are still gonna find a way to run it back this year though
Makes a lot of sense that the big names on HyperLiquid will slowly start using fomo to get more recognition.
Compare the ALL TIME leaderboard on fomo vs. the 24 HOUR leaderboard on HyperLiquid.

Won’t be long before someone steps in and makes what we’ve seen from Unipcs and PointFarmCap look small.
Kalshi just announced they completed a $1 billion funding round at a $40B valuation.
Up 8x from this time last year, outpacing both Anthropic (5.3x) and OpenAI (1.7x).
Pretty amazing success story.
Tarek & Luana are built different.
Kalshi just raised an additional $1B, valuing the company at $40B. This will help us expand into stocks, compute, indices, and institutional.
Tomorrow marks 8 years since we got accepted into YC and the journey began.
The odds of a kid from Lebanon getting here were pretty low.
Growing up there was great, but very challenging. We went through war. We had bombs explode in front of my house. I watched brilliant people’s lives destroyed for reasons beyond their control.
Lebanon is an unpredictable country. That unpredictability made it hard to plan for success. And yet despite it all, my mom sacrificed everything to give me and my brother the chance to go back to the US.
I found my refuge in two things: anime and math. Especially math.
I loved math because it calmed me. It was the opposite of unpredictable: clear, deterministic, orderly, and consistent. The proof is either right or wrong. I find that elegant and beautiful.
I was lucky.
I made it to my dream school, MIT (largely thanks to my mom), and my love for math quickly translated to a love for statistics, probability, and markets.
I love markets for a lot of the same reasons. Their incentives are clear: you get rewarded for being right and for pursuing knowledge. They are effective weighting machines for people’s opinions. They provide an incentive to be truthful, because they separate good information from bad information. They let people challenge the consensus and be rewarded for being right.
IMO, Hayek, Surowiecki, Hanson, Tetlock were the founding fathers of prediction markets. The more I read them, the more obsessed I got with the idea of applying market-based pricing to more things.
Markets bring rigor and critical thinking to more questions. And in an increasingly polarized and information-positioned word, I believe we need that more than ever.
Markets would also let people predict and manage more things outside of their control. And the world was becoming increasingly more unpredictable, and more like Lebanon, not less.
That love for markets got Luana and me to build Kalshi.
At first, it was mostly an idea we couldn’t stop talking about. We didn’t have much money. Luana’s sister bought the Kalshi domain name for us (for ~$1.7k). We moved to SF to get started, and embarked on a long, uncertain journey to build a regulated exchange.
The paranoia and anxiety from my childhood never left me. Even when things are going well, I think about what could go wrong. When people trust you with their money, that instinct serves a purpose.
I wanted us to build something that would hold up under pressure.
The first principle we defined at the company: regulatory-first. We worked with regulators for years before we listed a single market. We took every step to do things the right way and always asked for approval before proceeding. It was very hard at times, especially when we were being overtaken by competitors, but we believe doing things the right way matters.
Luana and I aren’t the only ones.
Our team put years of their lives into something far from certain. That’s especially true of Lior, Brandon, Rainer, Luis, Xavier, and Josef, who stuck with us for years. They believed when there was little to point to. And they stuck with us no matter how long it took. Kalshi is the result of an arduous journey through a long desert where, at times, most people didn’t understand why we were making the walk.
Many people still don’t understand what we’re doing and some disagree with us. Markets have historically taken time to be understood and accepted by some. But while not always obvious, their benefits are vast: capital markets help allocate capital and derivative markets help predict and manage uncertainty.
I firmly believe in these benefits, and that’s why I am dedicating my life to building this market.
Markets have caused issues many times in the past, and they certainly can present harms (manipulation, insiders, and addictive behaviors). These harms are more acute for certain types of markets (sports, short-term options, etc.) than others. It’s why I believe that guardrails need to exist and why we have taken the approach we have taken. We have consistently prioritized thinking critically about the risks and building the appropriate safeguards, sometimes beyond what the regulators require us to do. Many believe more needs to be done, and that’s a conversation I welcome.
Over time, I believe more people will see what we see: markets can help us get smarter and manage the future with more rigor, more precision, and more certainty than we have today.
To our tens of millions of users: you have made Kalshi bigger than anything Luana and I could have possibly imagined. Thank you for trusting us and thank you for coming along on the journey. I feel a strong responsibility to build a company worthy of that trust.
I am so lucky to spend my life building something I love. I hope everyone finds something they care about that much. Something that keeps you curious. Something that pushes you to your limits. Something that may put you at odds with the status quo. Something worth the hard days.
For me, it’s still markets. The more I learn, the more I want to understand.
Somehow every time I get on Facebook now I see @avery_bartlett
“Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident... We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining”
Binance has begun recovering affected assets for users and continues to work with law enforcement, issuers, blockchain intelligence firms and industry partners to trace, freeze and recover additional funds.
The company has already publicly committed to cover losses through company funds in the prior announcement.
Binance has already reserved over $6.34B of company funds to cover this incident. $5B of these funds are already held in the exact token assets that were impacted. We are completing the purchase of the remaining amount by buying token assets through market channels and OTC channels. We are doing this to match the format of the remaining token assets and address any asset shortfalls. This step can take longer because some tokens may have low liquidity and OTC settlement also takes time. We will share more progress as soon as we can.
These figures do not include frozen or protected assets, which remain subject to ongoing recovery and verification. Currently, $3bn has been frozen, with thanks to our industry partners. We are working with partners and law enforcement to recover the frozen assets. We will continue to use company resources to cover confirmed shortfall and will provide further verified updates as recovery efforts progress. Ultimately, all user funds will be verified publicly through our Proof of Reserves.
We will weather this storm. Thank you for the support.
I believe the worst of the fear from the Binance news and tech earnings selloff is over for now and the market bounces from here.
Just don’t see any major moves happening until midterms are over.
e.g. the market bottomed the last two bear markets within a month post midterms.
#Bitcoin / $BTC
So when should you consider going more risk on?
Historically the answer would be shortly after US midterm elections, which marked the bear market lows in each of the previous cycles.
Not saying the market sells off aggressively immediately after printing new lows this time like it did the others, but I think it's a decent bet we'll see a lot of volatility leading up to and shortly after November 3rd.
e.g. as bullish as I am here, why I don't think being in levered long positions makes sense... it makes a hell of a lot more sense to sit in spot positions you have a solid thesis for that you can keep stacking regardless of what the market does.
We're still early enough int he bull market that whether we send immediately or if we wait a couple of months to start sending, you should print multiples fairly easily soon enough by just stacking and being patient.
And if we somehow get any sort of a dip - being liquid enough to stack your highest conviction names = a truly generational entry.
So don't gamble and risk sidelining yourself if your thesis is right - but your timing isn't.
Patient bulls will continue to win.
My fiancée and I take her niece out one night each month for a “party day”.
Promised her I’d try my best to unplug and be present any time we do.
Kept my promise last night!
…And the biggest crypto exchange in the world got hacked.
Will try to warn y’all before the next one!
robinhood:0x7fe995a80075df3dc8ae11a9b82c7fe4202cd87f is breaking out on National Cat Day.
Robinhood Chain is about to have another $100M+ runner.
Thesis still remains:
CASHCAT = BONK
HMM = WIF
(But bigger)
Bullieve in something 🤔🐈
robinhood:0x7fe995a80075df3dc8ae11a9b82c7fe4202cd87f
accelerating higher as the rest of the market sells off...
interesting 🤔🐈
In my opinion, I think this happens much sooner than three years at the rate that AI is advancing.
Persistent models like grokbot make it magnitudes easier for the average person to automate financial strategies.
e.g. why the 40M tps benchmark $SUI hit recently is so important
within the next 3 years, A2A payments will become orders of magnitude bigger than P2P payments
most of those payments will be in amounts too small, at speeds too fast and at a scale too big for any traditional rail we have today
#Sui is built for this
The goat just announced he invested in Hyperliquid and you’re bearish?
