Crazy how Zcash launched ten years ago, long before anyone worried about AI or quantum. Now it's one of the most important assets in the world.
In its first 10 years, Zcash has successfully activated 10 major network upgrades.
Overwinter laying the foundations, Sapling making shielded payments possible on mobile, Blossom halving block times, NU5 eliminating trusted setups, to NU6.3 Ironwood strengthening supply integrity through formal verification.
Built to evolve. Designed to endure 🛡️

Incredibly underrated how Tachyon is shipping by EOY.
Zcash is scaling by orders of magnitude.
JUST IN: @zkDragon drafts a ZIP to make Sapling withdraw-only, moving everyone into quantum-recoverable, formally verified pools.
Made a draft ZIP for turning Sapling withdraw only: github.com/zcash/zips/pull/1…
Stats at a glance:
- 1.2% of non-mining pool transactions were Sapling
- Of those, they are predominantly withdrawing
Lets get everyone into Quantum Recoverable, Formally Verified pools!

@balajis on privacy as crypto's next era:
"Crypto isn't just about the commercial part, it's about the ideological part. The banks have failed. The political system has failed. We need an exit. We need self-sovereignty. And the missing part of that is privacy"

"2009 to 2017 proved Bitcoin would work. 2017 to 2025, programmability. Now, 2025 to 2030-something: privacy. Taking everything we just did and encrypting it using ZK"

What’s the point of seed phrases if someone can just show up to your house with a gun?
JUST IN: @ebfull publishes a draft ZIP to end the Zcash Community Grants funding stream and redirect its 8% of the block subsidy to the Network Sustainability Mechanism.
It's time to turn off the ZCG funding stream.
ZCG has over $125M in funding, and will receive millions more before the spigot is turned off. The program was never designed to handle this amount of funding.

Zcash is shielded AI-proof hyper-scalable formally verified thermodynamic encrypted Bitcoin.
Or "money", as the cypherpunks called it.

"The way we think about Zcash is it's private digital money. It's an encrypted version of Bitcoin"
"Bitcoin is fully transparent. What most people didn't expect is that's a big deal in the world of AI."
"AI is going to be dissecting all public ledgers, combining your transaction data with all the other data it has on you to stitch your life together"
