Moving Ci from actions to VPS on @dagger_io. Preliminary results are in.
“Merge-time runs are now dramatically faster with Dagger (5-14x), though some PR runs”

If you're trying out Dagger over the weekend, join our discord and say hi! It's fun group of CI nerds who love to help.
Our community discord is also our team chat, there is no separate slack... We're literally there ALL THE TIME.

CI needs to shift left. If you have to push to execute CI you're wasting your agents time. CI is absolutely killing my productivity right now. Traditional CI can not run at agent speed.

Forget TDD, real ones practice PDD 💪

@danielgafni has been using dagger for a long time at @typesafeai as our tool of choice for CICD and infra management.
Personally, I've been a complex-yaml-config hater for 15 years because you lose the expressiveness of code. to be clear i like yaml as serialization in most cases, but almost always prefer to store the construction of them in python files where you can do things like for loops and list comprehensions.
obviously, just keep that code simple and easy to read
this is how I do all my ML experiment configs, so it was an easy sell for our infra being this way too

Dagger is very cool, and the test-native CI is such a good idea!
Congrats @dagger_io team on the 1.0!
"When you peel off the layers of proprietary YAML and jargon, CI today boils down to running shell scripts on a server, and reading the logs. With such a primitive execution and data model, waste is everywhere, and it gets worse as you scale"

If you haven't already, you should check out dagger (or have your agent check it out). If you have already, give 1.0 another try. So many improvements packed into it. We've addressed a big ask from many users: run your CI for you. And it's super cheap. Give it a shot!

The time has come. Too many organisations fixed to github infrastructure, github actions. Blocking releases to production. Even when you run your own github runners still the github actions fail. I seriously recommend organisations, tech leaders and influences to take a look at dagger. Its absolutely game changing. Unblock your agents and remove dependency on 3rd party infrastructure and ci costs!

Dagger is one of the sickest technologies I've seen in the recent years. It powers all our CI at TypeSafe! Can't recommend it enough

I've been following and testing Dagger from day one (years ago 👴).
I can confidently say that 1.0 is the real deal, and I'm lucky that it's right on time to be a core piece of my new startup's coding factory.
Do yourself a favor, time to switch to third-generation CI! 🔥🤖🔥

All software should have a similar prompt on their website, similar to @dagger_io, for fast setup and tire-kicking.
