If your webcam appears frozen to others in @Workadventure_ (or other apps) and you use @Firefox 154+, you are hitting a Firefox regression, not a network problem. We spent the week on it and found the cause. Workaround for now: use Chrome, Edge or Safari. Details below 🧵
Firefox's built-in VP9 encoder stops producing frames the moment a scaled video frame has an odd width or height (222x125, say). Firefox 153 is fine, 154 and later are not. VP8 and AV1 are unaffected, and it takes the encoder down for every peer at once, not just one.
We filed it with Mozilla with a one-page test case: bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bu…
A workaround for WorkAdventure will be deployed in the next release.

Hey did you see? For the past 7 days, people have been fleeing Discord over data privacy reasons (they are not too fond of the new mandatory age verification it seems).
This got me thinking... Could WorkAdventure be a possible replacement?
I mean, after all, it's a great tool to gather communities, just like Discord. And obviously, it's also very different. I wrote an article comparing both and highlighting in which case this switch might make sense (and when to avoid it)
