A quick thread on all the major and minor differences between the regular and PROLED XDR MacBook Pro
✨ 1. Display Tech & Panels• Regular: Uses a gorgeous mini-LED backlit Liquid Retina XDR display.• PROLED XDR: Steps up to a cutting-edge tandem OLED panel with true blacks and infinite contrast.
👆 2. Touch Support• Regular: Traditional non-touch screen setup.• PROLED XDR: Features full Touch Display support integrated directly into macOS.
🎨 3. Color Gamut & Brightness• Regular: Supports Wide colour (P3) with up to 1,600 nits peak HDR brightness.• PROLED XDR: Expands color accuracy with Wide colour (P3 + Adobe RGB) and pushes peak HDR brightness up to a staggering 2,000 nits (plus 2,000
⚖️ 4. Dimensions & Weight• 14-inch Comparison:
The PROLED XDR model is fractionally slimmer (1.50 cm vs. 1.55 cm) and noticeably lighter (1.38 kg vs. 1.60 kg) than its mini-LED counterpart.• 16-inch Comparison: Similarly, the 16-inch PROLED XDR version shaves down thickness (1.60 cm vs. 1.68 cm) and weight (1.84 kg vs. 2.15 kg).
(From the side, you won't be able to tell the difference)
🔋 5. Battery Life & Power Profiles• 14-inch M5 Pro: The PROLED XDR configuration squeezes out slightly higher video streaming longevity (up to 22 hours) and ships with beefier stock power bricks depending on the core tier.• 16-inch Models: Both maintain identical battery ratings (up to 16h wireless web / 22h video) powered by the standard 140W USB-C adapter.
