A police chief in Georgia used Flock's cameras to track his ex-girlfriend and her teen daughter nearly 600 times. “Don’t worry I’m not tracking you or some weird stalker shit," he texted her. After his arrest, he committed suicide. He's one of 50 cops we found misusing Flock: 🧵

When a person in power struggles to calmly answer a normal question - like this one, from the great @jacobbogage, about the president canceling a midterm rally at the last minute - it's often revealing in its own way
.@POTUS absolutely DESTROYS Fake News @jacobbogage: "You are a SICK guy! Reuters is terrible, by the way. Look at this guy — he's way out of shape... You are disgusting. Put yourself in shape. You look like hell." 🤣🤣🤣

Trump fired him. The ‘DEI Watchlist’ shamed him. Then came 500 job rejections. Please spend some time with our story about how Trump's DEI purge changed the life of Dia Harris — one of many Black ex-feds struggling after Trump's federal cuts, we found: wapo.st/4zVn6Mt

ACLU Releases Video of ICE Agent Slashing Observers’ Tire ICE agents tailed, boxed in, and then slashed the tire of observers’ vehicle before driving away
ICE is terrorizing our communities—now slashing tires of a Portland resident who attempted to shine a light on their abusive behavior. Amid ICE's unlawfulness, the right to bear witness has never been more important to hold our government accountable aclu.org/press-releases/aclu…

New: A Florida county sent crews to remove the mystery Flock cameras along its roads. When they arrived, the cameras were gone. Officials still don't know who operated some of them or who removed them. "That data could be anywhere," one resident told me. washingtonpost.com/nation/20…

EXCLUSIVE: Trump DOJ’s has repeatedly insisted it will not tell immigration judges how to rule, as required by law. But after a demand from unidentified “higher-ups,” a veteran judge was ordered to reverse four rulings—then yanked from court mid-hearing. wapo.st/4BuABEM

Working in the Pentagon
Replying to @DanLamothe
A group dispatched by Hegseth's team in February attempted to move the historic globe, said to be used by Eisenhower during World War II. They lifted it from its home in an Army office in the Pentagon ... and dropped it.

In a statement, the WHCA says it “strongly objects to the decision to restrict a journalist's coverage simply because the president didn't care for their questioning. That is retaliation. The American public's right to an independent press depends on reporters being able to do their jobs without fear that challenging the president will cut off their access.”
New: Andrew Feinberg, the reporter that Trump snapped at here, was slated to serve as the print pool reporter on Thursday. Feinberg confirms to me that, without explanation, the White House told him today that he would no longer be the print pooler on Trump's Thursday trip.

New: We found cops who kept using Flock to spy on women after they left the force. One used it for five years after retirement, spying on his wife during a custody battle. Another ran searches while he was suspended (and later fired) after killing a 15-year-old boy. 🧵

Incredibly, Netflix has better anti-password sharing measures than Flock, despite its data tracking where we all go. After we shared our findings, Flock said it would make security changes, including cracking down on shared log-ins and forcing cops to log back in every 12 hours.

"The reason I keep bringing up the Palestinians throwing rocks to protect Heidi is because...these young men put their lives on the line to protect a sixty-three-year-old Jewish American journalist."
New Interview: I talked to the journalist Jasper Nathaniel about what he witnessed in the West Bank when the WaPo’s Heidi Levine & multiple Palestinians were attacked by Israeli settlers, as well as what’s been happening there before the Israeli election. newyorker.com/news/q-and-a/b…

You cannot look at this attack on an American journalist in isolation; it is part of a broader, systematic pattern of Israel enabling deadly attacks, with total impunity, against Palestinian journalists in Gaza and the West Bank, long before 2023. Shireen Abu Akleh & many more…
The facts are that @Heidiphotos had her rib broken, nearly lost a finger, and not a single assailant has been arrested.

On the Israeli settler attack on Palestinians and a WaPo journalist during an olive harvest: nytimes.com/2026/10/16/world… One thing our reporters noted that hasn't gotten much attention: the IDF shot a man running *away*, then claimed he was running at them with a "sharp object."

To be clear: Some facts are neither in dispute nor unclear. Our photographer was clearly marked as Press. She was clearly beaten. These are not partisan or risible statements, but indisputable. We urge a thorough investigation and accountability.
The Prime Minister’s Office: The facts surrounding the confrontation near Abu Falah, during which Washington Post photojournalist Heidi Levine was allegedly assaulted, remain unclear and are under investigation. Israel unequivocally condemns violence against anyone—Jews, Arabs, Christians or journalists. Those responsible will be held accountable. But serious questions remain. Reports indicate some 200 Arabs and far-left activists confronted approximately 40 Israeli youths. Footage shows masked individuals on both sides hurling objects, amid reports of fireworks fired at Jewish youths. Other footage appears to show Levine knocked down and immediately helped to her feet by the same unidentified individual. The investigation must establish the facts, including who initiated the violence. We will not allow disputed incidents to be exploited to demonize the hundreds of thousands of law-abiding Jewish residents of Judea and Samaria. The facts must determine the conclusions. Not the headlines.
