Regulators around the world now hold companies accountable for every decision their AI agents make. The Elliptic Institute's Certified agentic on-chain risk practitioner course teaches those skills in 90 minutes, for free, with a certificate at the end. Read what each regulator expects and how you can get certified today: hubs.la/Q04B-W6X0

An AI agent that pays in milliseconds leaves no time for a person to approve each payment. Elliptic's June Lau joined ASEAN bankers and regulators at a GFTN roundtable in Bangkok last week. The overall view was that human oversight still applies, but it needs to move earlier, into the limits a company sets before any agent goes live. On a public blockchain, those limits have to cover which wallets the agent pays. June explains what that means for AI agent guardrails: hubs.la/Q04B-Nlw0

In 2026, Elliptic has tracked more than 60 suspected DPRK-linked attacks on the crypto ecosystem. The recent exploit of Bitget pushed the year's suspected total past $1 billion. Join Elliptic's Intelligence Team on Thursday October 29 to trace how the laundering has evolved: hubs.la/Q04Bn0Cj0

AI agents can now use a crypto mixer. Elliptic has identified the first mixer that publishes a Model Context Protocol (MCP) server, the standard AI agents use to call outside tools. An agent can now add a mix to its workflow as one more step. That cuts both ways. Launderers can use agents to push funds through mixers faster and in greater numbers than any analyst could review. Legitimate agents need privacy too, because every payment they make on a public blockchain is visible to competitors and attackers. A rule that only asks “did these funds touch a mixer?” can’t tell the two apart. Compliance teams need risk rules built on behavior and on proof of where funds came from, running at the speed agents transact, with a person accountable for every decision. Scam compounds are moving from Southeast Asia into Africa. Elliptic is finding them as they arrive. @TheJusticeDept has named Elliptic among the private industry partners in Joint Disruption Week: Africa, the first coordinated effort against West African scam networks. Hosted by @NCA_UK, the week led to 28 arrests, and private sector partners identified $11 million in potentially freezable funds. Our investigators linked scam wallets and websites to exchange accounts on both sides of the scams. Customer-protection measures began the same day. 🤖 An agentic payment is a payment an AI agent makes for a person or business. Someone gives the agent a budget and a task, such as compiling a report. If the task needs paid data, the agent finds a seller, decides to buy from it and pays, usually in stablecoins. Nobody approves that individual payment. Once a payment on a public blockchain goes through, it can't be reversed. So the compliance check on who is being paid (or who pays you) has to happen before the money moves. Our new explainer walks through how these payments work, who is involved and where those checks fit: hubs.la/Q04zB4R30

🦾 KYC tells you who's behind a payment. When an AI agent makes the payment for them, you also need to know what that agent is allowed to do. That's what Know Your Agent (KYA) covers. Our new explainer shows how it works and what changes when agents pay on-chain. hubs.ly/Q04zhnZM0

Gnosis Pay powers stablecoin card programs and multi-currency accounts for wallets, neobanks, exchanges and payment processors worldwide, all built on self-custodial wallets. That means blockchain risk moves fast, and staying ahead of it takes real intelligence, not guesswork. Hear from MLRO Caio Beck on how Elliptic helps his team catch on-chain risk early, decide faster and build controls that hold.

Ask your provider when they last tested a failover of their primary cloud region. Then ask how long recovery took. It's one of nine questions we think every compliance team should put to any provider of on-chain risk solutions. Read about the other questions here: hubs.la/Q04ySJmp0

Stablecoin transactions hit $33 trillion in 2025. Increasingly, AI agents are initiating them. The teams didn't change. The volume did. Legacy, forensics-first tooling was built for a world of after-the-fact review. This is not a bigger version of the same problem. It is a different one. The Elliptic Standard sets out eight principles for agentic risk management in on-chain finance. Use it to assess your own approach. Challenge your vendors. Hold us to it.

🇺🇸 The CLARITY Act stalled in the Senate on September 15. Two days later, the SEC granted an exemption that lets tokenized US stocks trade on-chain. Venues using the Innovation Exemption must permission every participant in their liquidity pools and comply with OFAC sanctions rules. The CFTC issued no-action relief for self-hosted wallet developers the same day. In this week's regulatory update, Elliptic's David Carlisle covers what the SEC and CFTC have done and what Hester Peirce's departure on October 2 means for the Commission. Plus news from the UK, EU, Hong Kong and South Korea. hubs.la/Q04yHC0T0

Every on-chain risk provider has made the same engineering decisions, Elliptic included. You won't see them in a demo. You find out on the day your volume spikes, your provider's region fails or a regulator asks about a decision you made three years ago. Our new paper, Built for compliance, takes each decision in turn, with a question to put to any provider, including us. Download it now ➡️ hubs.ly/Q04yzJYq0

🚨 Attackers took over $350 million from Bitget's hot wallets this week. The evidence points to North Korea. We traced stolen Bitget funds to addresses tied to previous DPRK-attributed exploits, including Bybit. If the attribution holds, DPRK-linked cryptoasset theft in 2026 has now passed $1 billion. We updated our datasets shortly after the first alerts, so Elliptic customers can already screen against the linked addresses. Read our analysis of the attack: hubs.la/Q04ykdwb0

👮‍♀️ Crypto lead prioritization has historically sat with specialist units, which has meant that front-line police officers who encounter a crypto address cannot immediately take action on what is potentially an important piece of intelligence. That's why we are launching Pulse, built with law enforcement for law enforcement. Officers enter an address or transaction hash and get a plain-language summary in seconds, with the evidence behind it and a clear escalation path to the appropriate investigations team. No crypto expertise required, at the front line or in the division picking the case up. Read more about Pulse: hubs.la/Q04ycmmT0
