🌱 Across Canada, 4R experts are helping growers put 4R Nutrient Stewardship into practice. The 2026 acre reporting period is now open until December 15, providing an opportunity to make those efforts count. Reporting acres under 4R nutrient plans helps demonstrate the adoption of efficient nutrient use practices that support agricultural productivity and environmental stewardship. Every acre reported contributes to a clearer picture of 4R adoption and the progress being made toward sustainable agriculture across Canada. 👉 Submit your 2026 acres by December 15: fertilizercanada.ca/our-focu…

While Bill C-39 proposes new federal intervention authorities, the Government would only be able to intervene once a strike or lockout has begun. For Canada's fertilizer industry, rail and port disruptions have resulted in an estimated $1 billion in losses over the past decade. Beyond the economic impact, persistent backlogs can delay critical fertilizer deliveries, leaving farmers at risk of missing narrow, weather-dependent application windows. We're recommending a targeted amendment to section 107 that would allow earlier intervention in exceptional circumstances, when collective bargaining has failed, a special mediator's report clearly indicates a work stoppage is imminent, and significant economic harm to the national interest would result. Billions of dollars in Canadian goods move through our supply chains every day. Canada's economic growth depends on reliable and predictable supply chains. Yet under the proposed Bill C-39, the Government would only be able to intervene once a strike or lockout has begun, even when there is clear evidence of significant economic harm. For Canada's fertilizer industry, rail and port disruptions can delay essential fertilizer deliveries during critical planting windows, putting crop production, agricultural exports and Canada's reputation as a reliable global supplier at risk. A targeted amendment to section 107 would give the Government a #WindowToAct before preventable economic damage occurs, in exceptional circumstances. Learn more at WindowToAct.ca. #WindowToAct
