Sky is the limit for stablecoin adoption.
Stablecoin adoption is getting harder to ignore, and I think we're still underestimating where this is heading.
Just look at what's happening globally.
Hong Kong has introduced its stablecoin licensing regime and started approving issuers.
Singapore is exploring how regulated digital money can be used for institutional payments and settlement.
Japan is advancing regulated stablecoin use, with financial institutions exploring new payment and settlement options.
The UAE is developing its digital payments ecosystem with a dedicated regulatory framework for payment tokens.
Another interesting development coming out of Asia.
Malaysia and Thailand have joined Singapore's BLOOM initiative as policymaker members. The project focuses on using regulated stablecoins and tokenized bank deposits for things like cross-border trade finance and corporate treasury.
With institutions like J.P. Morgan, Visa and DBS involved, this isn't just about crypto companies experimenting anymore. Traditional finance is exploring how this infrastructure could work at scale.
Faster settlements, lower payment costs and money moving across borders with fewer of the usual complications.
Stablecoins don't need a bull market to be useful. Businesses need payments, banks need settlement, and people need access to digital dollars.
The infrastructure being built today could play a much bigger role in global finance over the next few years. 👀
Tokenization booming era.
A month ago, we warned that “MASS TOKENIZATION” was coming.
Today, it’s breaking records, and the numbers are getting hard to ignore.
Stocks. Bonds. Bank deposits. Investment funds.
The way we invest and move money is changing.
You could end up using blockchain without even knowing it.
What’s already changing:
Wall Street is going onchain, with the NYSE’s parent company and OKX originally proposing over 60 US stocks as tokens
Government debt is going onchain, with Hong Kong issuing a RECORD $2.6 BILLION digital bond and Luxembourg issuing €1.7 BILLION
Tokenized stocks and ETFs total $3.53 BILLION across 4.42 MILLION holder addresses, per RWA(.)xyz
Bank dollars are going onchain as JPMorgan expands JPM Coin to Ethereum for institutional clients
The pushback is also growing, with Microsoft, Alphabet, Goldman Sachs and Wells Fargo among 22 companies opposing tokens of their shares on the planned OKXICE venue
Investment funds are following, with Franklin Templeton’s Singapore fund reportedly adding roughly $150 MILLION in fund shares on the XRP Ledger
Trading hours are stretching, with Nasdaq targeting 23 hours of weekday trading from December 6
Britain is preparing its own digital government bond pilot, with six banks appointed to lead it
Most trades are fractional, with about 80% of tokenized stock trades in an IMF study smaller than one share
Buying a stock token does not necessarily make you a direct shareholder in the company
