And NBC just called the Minnesota Senate race and Michele Tafoya did not win. We're just going to have to be patient; someday an NFL sideline reporter will get to Congress.
Former NFL kicker Jay Feely is down by more than 11 points with 73% of the vote reporting. The New York Times currently projects Democrat Amish Shah, who was the Jets' team doctor at the same time Feely kicked for the team, to win by roughly 8.5 points.

And Hunter Yurachek reiterates that they can't take into account Ohio State beating Indiana and other head to heads because they're not "in the same pod." Can't make this stuff up
Today is the last day of the year we'll be forced to watch non-stop campaign ads. Regrettably, it's also the first day of the year we'll be watching Hunter Yurachek resume talking about quadrants and good losses and when head to head doesn't matter. (BCS ranking show -- 2026 edition -- debuts tonight.)

Kentucky and a two loss Akabama and 2 loss Texas ahead of unbeaten UCLA and 1 loss ND. There's no way these committee members have enough time in the day to evaluate these teams fully. Rankings look like a drunk guy threw darts. All willy nilly.

Elite insiders Schefter and Ian R keep saying they're being told Ward is Titans QB of future and they're not trying to get QB in draft. Jets or trade up (with Jets owning 3 first rounders) would thus remain biggest threat if Fins want Mestemaker (if he turns pro).

The Toure nugget in here is pretty jarring.... And it's time for Wilson and Blount to come closer to matching what Lightfoot is doing.

MLB's proposed $180 M salary floor would force Marlins to double their payroll by 2028. But will owners be willing to cancel the season, if necessary, to force players to accept cap/floor?
MLB's proposal to union today called for a salary cap & floor to be implemented in 2028, not '27. So teams can feel secure in trying to fill out rosters this month without any great likelihood of needing to add/dump payroll to comply with '27 rules.Of course, union wants no cap.

It always makes me melancholy to update the list of '72 Dolphins who have passed. By my count, Heinz is the 22nd. His son, John, said his father was diagnosed with heart failure 4 years ago but he died Saturday of natural causes.

Sadly, we've lost another member of the undefeated 1972 Dolphins. Bob Heinz, who started 8 games that season, died Saturday in Fresno, Cal. He was 79. Heinz played in 109 games (55 starts) over 8 seasons for the Dolphins. RIP.
