They said the Industrial Revolution was just a fad.
They said the automobile was just a fad.
They said the Internet was just a fad.
And now, right on schedule, apparently AI is just a fad, too.
Sure, it makes people more productive, but how? And what kind of people? Everybody, or just the chosen few?
What to delegate, what to double-check, and what to do yourself.

You seem perfectly comfortable acknowledging that employers can exploit employees, but strangely offended by the suggestion that employees might also exploit employers. We'd suggest that healthy relationships require accountability on both sides. Apparently that's a rather controversial concept.

✈️ 🚀 @gapingvoid crushed it in planting the potent seeds of culture design during this 5-day event. Their masterclass is a masterpiece, and it was an honor to join them.
💥 And it doesn’t get any better than dinner at the @AFmuseum as a part of the festivities.

I’d suggest that the opposite is also true, where employers who deeply care about their people are met with entitlement and transactional mindsets from employees.

Your organization is not a sentient being.
It doesn't think. It doesn't decide. It doesn't resist change.
People do.
Thanks @DellAnnaLuca for joining us at Cultivate for a fascinating discussion on why understanding the humans behind decisions will always be the first step toward changing a system.
A beehive’s behavior emerges from individual bees making individual decisions. Organizations, too, are shaped by countless individual decisions. So, to change an organization, you need to change how people make those decisions.
That was the topic of my talk at @gapingvoid’s DTO Leadership Masterclass yesterday. I was glad to join them; we share a similar focus on how culture shapes organizations and how leaders can shape culture.

We're about to find out.

Most people think culture is something that just… happens. But as fabulous folks over at @EpochOpinion point out, culture is a direct reflection of its leader. Cultures often suck because leaders don’t understand that behavior spreads through observation and copying.
Want to run a better company? Pay attention to how you’re interacting with the people around you and the behaviors they are copying from you.
@JanJekielek, @JoePolish, @DrBenjaminHardy, we’d love your take on this: How much of organizational dysfunction is really just a leader's unresolved personal dysfunction playing out at scale?

We'd push back on that, @raehanbobby. Culture is designed from the top, but brought to life from the bottom. Leaders set the vision but employees are the ones who turn it into reality. Culture is a top-down responsibility that requires bottom-up participation.

In the long run, company culture is what makes or breaks your business.
If you're a leader lucky enough to have people who believe deeply in what they're doing, your job isn't to squeeze every last drop out of that belief. It's to build an organization worthy of it. bit.ly/4jpvxuG
