Yet more tax, yet more barriers to building homes. Labour will never, ever learn.
To be involved in the 'Your First Home' scheme, house builders will have to pay a 1% tax on the first 100 homes, a 3% tax on the next 150 homes & then a 4% tax on more homes. #ukhousing #ukconstruction #AutumnBudget2026 #Budget2026

A thread worth a moment of your time 👇
A key thing to look out for in the Budget is that the OBR in March 2026 forecast an exponential rise in house building & it would reach 1.3 million in the 5-year parliament, which was clearly complete nonsense even then & even more so now, so... #ukhousing #Budget #Budget2026

Chaotic game, but an entertaining one. Ref loved his yellow cards, some baffling, awful decisions. Should have been 4/5-0, but very happy with that. Good time find the goals just before the Huddersfield game on Saturday. Love taking my son to games at the moment. Special times for me as his dad, getting to watch them win most times we go. Love it!

Fenestration Fact of the Day 🪟 Georgian fanlights combined decorative glass with ingenious metalwork. In 1774, Francis Underwood, a glazier and plumber from Ampthill in Bedfordshire, registered a patent for a construction method using moulded lead-and-tin alloy ribs and ornamental details soldered to metal glazing bars. These techniques helped makers achieve the delicate, elaborate patterns seen above Georgian entrance doors. By the late 18th century, specialist companies were producing fanlights as a trade in their own right. georgiangroup.org.uk #FenestrationHistory #HeritageWindows Source: georgiangroup.org.uk/wp-cont…

Fenestration Fact of the Day 🪟 A Tudor window maker left his name in the timber. In 1559, carpenter Richard Dale added bay windows to Little Moreton Hall in Cheshire. The work included windows serving the great hall, withdrawing room and room above it. An inscription beneath one window credits “Richarde Dale Carpeder”, while another names William Moreton and records the date in Roman numerals. These surviving inscriptions preserve both the customer’s name and the craftsman’s contribution, more than 460 years later. Fenestration Fact of the Day 🪟 The early VELUX roof window was top-hung. Developed in Denmark by engineer Villum Kann Rasmussen in 1942, it combined a wooden frame and sash with external zinc cladding, rainwater drainage channels, and a tight seal for installation in a sloping roof. In 1945, Rasmussen developed a pivot hinge that allowed the sash to rotate around a central axis without damaging the exterior cladding. This brought a practical benefit: both sides of the glazing could be cleaned from inside the building. #FenestrationHistory #RoofWindows Source: en.villumwindowcollection.co…

Fenestration Fact of the Day 🪟 Liverpool was experimenting with ambitious iron-and-glass office façades in 1864. Designed by Peter Ellis, Oriel Chambers on Water Street combined a cast-iron frame with stone cladding and rows of projecting, iron-framed oriel windows. At the rear, continuous glazed bays cantilevered out from the building’s frame. Its influence reached well into the twentieth century: Historic England records that Oriel Chambers inspired the curtain-wall design at 190–192 Sloane Street in London—a Victorian glazing idea informing modern office architecture. #FenestrationHistory #ArchitecturalGlass Source: historicengland.org.uk/listi… Source: historicengland.org.uk/listi…

Frustrating. A win could have seen us stay top with teams below us dropping points. On a more serious note, we've still only scored ten goals in the league this season. Yes, our defence is working well; we've only conceded five goals in the league all season. But we have to start finding the back of the net and quickly.
It ends in a stalemate at the Pirelli Stadium. ⏱️ #BCAFC | #BURvBRA
