Ever have an idea of how Ethereum could be safer to use?
This is your chance to tell us about it, get it funded, and make it happen!
Onchain security is everyone’s problem and nobody’s job.
ETHSecurity Initiatives is how we are changing that.
Propose the work. Fund the work. Build the work.

October is almost over, but there's still time to make your donations count.
Donate $5 or more to a GIVbacks-eligible project on Giveth before the month ends, and you'll be entered into our monthly GIVbacks raffle! 🎟
15 winners. More reasons to give.
Support a project you believe in and get your chance to win GIV! 👇

As models get smarter, the need for domain-specific training data and benchmarks grows.
In blockchain security, that data is scarce.
EVMbench by @paradigm and @OpenAI contains 117 vulnerabilities from 40 audits. Open-model training needs data that scales.
That’s why we’re building our take on EVMbench 2.0: 500 new, human-verified synthetic EVM cases with working exploits and fixes.
We’ve applied to @thedaofund to fund this work 👇

Acceleration should give a person more room to act, not just more systems to answer to.
If the machines become more capable and ordinary people become less free, we optimized the wrong thing.
Very happy to win the hackathon in Shenzhen this week
I learned a lot building with robots, I’m excited to take Interlock forward
Replying to @shanhaiwoo
🏅 1st Place: Interlock
Interlock is an open-source safety layer for AI-controlled robot arms. It checks every command before execution, combining collision detection, real-time monitoring, and human override to make AI-driven robotics safer.
👨💻 Built by: @theZeugh

Congress should pass a Digital Good Samaritan law that permits breaking into vulnerable servers to apply critical patches to them.
Random nerds would have patched all of these by now.

imagine you wake up one day and suddenly this absolute maniac (in the best way possible) is a director of your "foundation" out of nowhere lolol
@VitalikButerin showed how based he is by appointing this guy to the EF board
look the foundational problem with ethereum protocol design is that most of the people designing the protocol don't actually use ethereum themselves. you can't fix the right things if you don't use your own fucking product. you don't have enough skin in the game if you don't personally depend on the system you're designing & stand to lose money when it breaks. i understand, everything looks great from an ivory tower lol. things look very different when you're actually on the ground dealing with the consequences. if you don't use ethereum yourself but still think you're qualified to design its protocol, you're playing god with a system you don't have to live with and whose consequences you don't have to suffer.

Glamsterdam is bringing changes that could affect how existing smart contracts behave.
@chain_security has already identified 13 affected protocols.
Want to understand what could break and how to check your own code?
Join their workshop at the Security Hub during @EFDevcon on November 5 at 3:40 PM!
RSVP here: luma.com/uxs32jih
⚠️ It has just been decided to delay the Glamsterdam hard fork on the Hoodi testnet because of security impacts we identified in this blog post: chainsecurity.com/blog/glams…
We already found 13 real-world examples and are in responsible disclosure with the affected projects.
Please check your contracts as soon as possible, as the EF is determining how many contracts are impacted in which way.
Feel free to reach out to us with questions via [email protected].

Make that a double bill: @eduadiez's talk follows right after mine. We'll talk shop about how Ethereum can become the economic operating system of the world, and what role the EEZ (@etheconomiczone) plays in that. There'll be demos, too, so bring 🍿!
We're excited to welcome @tw_tter to Devcon 8!
@gnosis_ co-founder, physicist, and co-initiator of the @etheconomiczone, she remains on speaking terms with the laws of physics.
Join Friederike’s talk in the Futures Worth Building track to ask, How Big Can Ethereum Get Before Physics Gets in the Way?

60+ initiatives. One big question: where should Ethereum security focus next?
Today on TheDAO X Space, we're bringing ETHSecurity Badge holders together to discuss the initiatives in our round, what deserves support, and what we might be missing.

Software supply chain directly impacts wallets' security, and therefore user funds' security. A compromised dependency in a wallet means a compromised wallet, which means compromised users.
@polymutex joins @EFDevcon to explore how should wallets protect against software supply chain attacks

The private key is crypto's original sin.
It's gotten so bad that I default recommend CEXs to people instead of self-custody.
What is the easiest onboarding for new users into a safe non-custodial solution, where if they get phished they don't lose everything?

Vintage key storage, next-gen infra.
HSM Signing lets institutions keep keys in their own HSM and still get Turnkey's policy engine, auth, and tx management. A security team's favorite kind of remaster.
