There's more to @thecrucibletheatre than #snookerworldchampionship - there's boomerangs at @MathsInspiratn @BBCSport @Cambridge_Eng @TrinCollCam
Chalk on the cusion:
With chalk the ball grips and bounces up like this

which can be simulated
www3.eng.cam.ac.uk/~hemh1/ba…
but with no chalk the ball slips which slows it down

exactly as #stevedavis showed!

looks like there's a trend. The clock is moving to bsky.app/profile/clockkeeper…
This’ll be fun!
Tomorrow 10am GMT I’ll fast forward the Trinity clock by 23 hrs for the end of Summer Time.
watch in Great Court with tours up to see the clock mechanism.
Coffee croissants in chapel.
Why 23 hrs, not 11 hrs? I’ll explain tomorrow!

It was such a thrill and joy to work with legendary director Lee Isaac Chung on TWISTERS. Even in the most intense and powerful action pieces he still manages to always make it feel personal and about the characters. The sheer power and majesty of the storms is always grounded in us rooting for Kate, Tyler, Javi and all the others, and finding a way to capture that balance and tone was the main starting point for the score.
As a huge fan of the original movie, it was an honor to have been invited to be a part of this incredible film. The score album is out now! backlotmusic.ffm.to/twisters… #twisters

For Imogen, in Paris, the city of light - where your guts, grit and grace made gold - an illumination from Cambridge.

Maybe of interest to @KamalaHarris @VP - she likes Venn Diagrams and I suspect cricket is a secret passion ...
🏏 Would you take on the Venn cricket machine? Watch Trinity Fellow @hughhunt's film to help you decide!

Li Ka Shing Early Cancer Institute Director and Trinity Fellow Professor Rebecca Fitzgerald talks about the multi-disciplinary approach of @EarlyCancerCam and how #Cambridge researchers are #ChangingTheStoryOfCancer
Scientists @EarlyCancerCam are finding radical new ways to spot #cancer early so that it can be treated more easily.
Their work will benefit patients at @CambCancer @CRUKCamCentre, across the UK and beyond.
Cambridge is #ChangingTheStoryOfCancer.
... and this is what the clock dial looks like as the sun sets. You can see why the illumination is quite neat! @TrinCollCam @Trinity1546
Illumination of the Trinity College clock dial. Really neat to see a flash of light reflecting in the windows around 1am - this is the moon, low in the sky at this point in time. @TrinCollCam @Trinity1546

🚗💬To my knowledge, LINGO-2 is the first time a vehicle has been driven by a Visual Language Model end-to-end. New capabilities:
1) Adapting driving behaviour with language prompts
2) Interrogating the AI in real-time
3) Real-time driving commentary
