I think you might be on to something. It would be smart to do. He is smart and the ultimate deal maker.
1/2 DON’T SHOOT THE MESSENGER, BUT I THINK WE MAY BE ABOUT TO SEE A DIFFERENT DONALD TRUMP!
Okay, folks. It’s about 1:30 in the morning. We’ve been covering election results for roughly seven hours now, and I have to tell you, I’m sitting here somewhat stunned by what I’m hearing from President Donald Trump following tonight’s Democratic victories.
And I’m going to say something that I may very well regret saying tomorrow morning. But here goes!
Donald Trump is a dealmaker. He’s also a political shapeshifter.
He’s not your traditional conservative Republican. Never has been. Remember, Trump was once a Democrat himself.
But there’s one thing I’ve always believed about Donald Trump, whether I agree or disagree with his politics, his personality or his approach to governing.
I believe he genuinely believes in putting America FIRST.
Now, hear me out before you start throwing tomatoes at me!
Tonight, following the Democratic victories, President Trump reportedly told CBS News:
“My message is, congratulations to the Democrats, and I look forward to working with you for the good of our country.”
In another interview, Trump said:
“We’ll work with the Democrats, and we’ll, you know, look forward to working with them. We’ll probably work something out.”
And perhaps the most interesting statement of all came when Trump reportedly said:
“They’ve already called and they want to work with me.”
Now, folks, those statements have really gotten me thinking.
For much of his presidency, Trump has faced resistance in Congress, including from members of his own party, when it comes to some of his economic and trade priorities.
And let’s be honest about something else.
Washington is full of politicians on BOTH sides of the aisle who receive enormous financial support from big business. And some of those businesses have a financial interest in keeping manufacturing and jobs overseas, where labor and production costs are cheaper.
Trump has consistently talked about bringing those jobs home, rebuilding American manufacturing and strengthening the American economy.
Whether you agree with his methods or not, that’s been a central part of his message.
But here’s where my political Spidey senses are starting to tingle.
Donald Trump has roughly two years remaining in his presidency.
Two years to build his legacy.
Two years to accomplish the things he wants to be remembered for.
And he has a choice.
He can spend those two years sitting behind the Resolute Desk, vetoing legislation, fighting with Democrats and watching Washington accomplish absolutely nothing.
OR…
He can do what Donald Trump has spent much of his business career doing.
MAKE DEALS.
What if Trump looks at this election and decides that working with Democrats might actually give him a better opportunity to accomplish some of his economic goals than continuing to fight members of his own party?
What if we see a president who decides that his legacy is more important than party loyalty?
What if the next two years become less about the Republican Party versus the Democratic Party and more about finding common ground on jobs, manufacturing, trade and the American economy?
And here’s something else to consider.
What if Donald Trump decides that his final two years aren’t necessarily about making America great AGAIN, but about putting America FIRST?
There’s a difference, at least in how that message could translate into governing.
Now, before somebody takes this post and runs off telling everybody I’ve lost my mind, let me be perfectly clear.
I’m not predicting that Trump is about to become a Democrat. I’m not suggesting he’s abandoning his conservative supporters. And I’m certainly not saying that Democrats and Republicans are suddenly going to start holding hands and singing together on the steps of the Capitol.
I’m simply saying that Trump is unpredictable, he’s transactional, and he understands the art of making a deal.
And why we are the most productive nation

Realize Harris never won the last primary. Actually dropped out very early as no support. Then in unprecedented backwards methods they appointed her to be the Dem Rep for President. Oh yes, she had that superior VP experience (ha ha). I doubt she could beat several who will be running against her in the primary.

Kamala Harris will not pick her. But Kamala Harris will probably pick someone like Josh Shapiro from Pennsylvania. Democrats can take PA, GA AZ & NV. And beat the Republicans. We will fly back from Russia as duel citizens and make this happen 🇷🇺💪🥇
The whole sport of guys in spikes, kicking each other, bumping heads is dangerous. The rule / call should be based o intent.

Nobody’s saying he meant to injure him. But intent doesn’t erase the fact that it was a dangerous, red-card challenge. That’s why the Laws of the Game punish serious foul play regardless of intent.
Players have suffered broken ankles and season-ending injuries from challenges like this. A straight red was fully justified.
The whole thing about not having a start / stop clock for all to see is ripe for corruption. Never heard a good reason for the lack of a public clock other than it is tradition. Come on some evolution only makes sense.

I am supporting England. This was an obvious red card: studs up challenge. The second penalty against Kane was garbage and the +11 minutes extra time is just corrupt.
Brings a tear to my eye. So many countries have learned why we (most of us) are so proud of our country. We are also happy so many others are seeing what we know and not what the media tells them. On this July 4th weekend many other lands will experience our celebrations and we will be even prouder. The song is a GREAT tune and really tells a great story. Welcome to the “The Land of the Free”.
This is exactly why a clock that displays is needed. I’m not saying anything was done wrong but saying have one person in the stadium know / control the time leaves room for speculation and conspiracy thought. I realize there is extra time on the extra time. But how much, why, when…Transparency should be provided to the players and fans.

Why are we at +8 mins when there was suppose to be +7? I turned the game off so curious how we are playing a whole extra minute before the whistle.

Not an Obama POTUS fan. I do think President Obama stated this very well. One exception is "... over a decades-long failure to reform police practices and the broader criminal justice...". May not be where we need to be but last decades have progressed and not a total failure.
