“Throttling has been lifted in the affected Soweto and southern areas, and reservoirs are recovering. Crown Gardens Reservoir and Tower are supplying. Across the city, our teams are prioritising pipe repairs, and outstanding service delivery backlogs to minimise water losses. "
“Sandton storage has improved from 27% to approximately 37%, while Erand Reservoir is at 35% and supporting improved supply to parts of Midrand. However, Bryanston, Illovo, Morningside, Grand Central, Honeydew and parts of Cosmo City continue to experience challenges.
“Across the Commando and Central systems, we are seeing varying levels of recovery. Brixton Reservoir 1 is at 91%, Yeoville has recovered to above 40%, and supply has been restored to most of Alexander Park. Berea is above 60%, while teams continue working to improve inflows. "
Executive Mayor Cllr Dada Morero says intensified technical interventions are beginning to improve water supply across Johannesburg.
Johannesburg’s overall water storage levels have improved to 41%, up from 37% yesterday, following intensified technical interventions to support the recovery of the water supply network.
