Monthly starts. Shows massive ramping up as delivery areas come online end of 2025/start 2026

This article is misleading. And Centre for Government Reform seem to be selective in its analysis. The latest stats show 25k starts on Connect to Work and now trending around 4k p/month (April-June) They also show nearly half of delivery areas didn’t start until Jan 2026…

Whilst Connect to Work could have started sooner, it’s unfair to say unemployed disabled people have rejected it. If anything as numbers are now rapidly increasing disabled jobseekers are embracing it

#journalists ahead of the #budget a plea to remember 🚨Personal Independence Payment (PIP) is NOT an out of work benefit 🚨 Please challenge guests who assume it is. You can work AND claim PIP. #Budget2026

There’s a lot of talk of getting people in work. But From the 100k+ jobs on the DWPs jobs site… Just 480 are remote Only 29 are remote & Disability Confident That’s what’s facing disabled people. We must tackle the barriers employers put up. Not just demand more of people.

Having extra costs is not a consideration on which eligibility is currently based...nor can you quantify what you have to 'go without' because you can't afford it
1 in 6 PIP claimants confess they have no extra disability costs. That's why @Conservatives will shift from cash to support for people with milder conditions. Taxpayer-funded help should go to those who need it most - to live with dignity, and to work if you can.

A fair chance at a future shouldn’t be a fairy tale. But for too many young disabled people, that’s exactly what it feels like. Today, we joined the Disability Charities Consortium in writing an open letter to Prime Minister Andy Burnham.

Absolutely not ‘often’. It would require an incredibly specific set of circumstances in the household and not true of most disabled claimants!
‘There’s no incentive to work!’ @JoeShalam tells @NickFerrariLBC that Brits on benefits can often earn more than people working full-time.

Young disabled people have a wealth of talent and skills, and it’s positive to see the government putting money behind them to unlock their potential. ⬇️
Expansion of Jobs Guarantee to put young disabled people at the front of the queue. This is the kind of change we need.

Employment support that is free from fear and sanctions produces better outcomes. Good to see DWP are announcing this tomorrow. Many young disabled people want to work but are being let down let’s hope this changes that

Andy Burnham described “the fair and sustainable way to bring the welfare bill down" in his 1st speech as prime minister today. New @jrf_uk analysis shows why tackling underlying problems with jobs, health & housing, not “crude cuts”, would be a popular & lasting approach. 1/10
