Today, thanks to @snp, the House of Commons finally voted on the Ombudsman’s report and compensation for the WASPI women.
I am delighted that MPs voted 105 to 0 in favour of the Bill brought in by @StephenFlynnSNP .

First Minister @JohnSwinney has chaired a Scottish Government Resilience Room meeting.
As #StormÉowyn continues, people are asked not to travel during the red weather warning and to be mindful that dangerous conditions will persist into this evening.

ALT “Storm Éowyn is an exceptional weather event and is causing significant impacts across Scotland, with multiple reports of fallen trees and blown over vehicles. What the Met Office predicted has come our way, with gusts of 100mph winds reported. I want to thank members of the public for largely following Police Scotland’s advice not to travel. However, this storm is not over yet. Even once the red weather warning expires, severe weather warnings for wind, snow and ice remain in place across much of the country tonight and into tomorrow morning. A high level of vigilance is still required.” John Swinney, First Minister

Just finished @scotgov resilience call
on #StormÉowyn. The predicted very strong winds are here and there is widespread disruption to power supplies, transport and schools. I am grateful to many who have followed the advice not to travel. Please continue to do so and stay safe.

‼️Please help us during #StormEowyn by only calling 999 in critical emergencies ‼️
If you are waiting for a call back after a 999 call, please only call again if your condition significantly worsens or you no longer need our help.
If your condition isn't immediately life-threatening, call NHS24 on 111 or use the symptom checker and self-help guides on NHS Inform: nhsinform.scot/winter

Women’s Health Minister @jenni_minto encouraged girls to accept HPV vaccination to help eliminate cervical cancer. No cases have been detected in fully vaccinated girls who received a first dose at age 12-13 years.

Getting vaccinated is not only the best way to protect yourself and your family from serious illness this winter, but it will also help to reduce the pressure on the NHS over the busy winter period. 4/5
People who are eligible for winter vaccinations should check nhsinform.scot/winter-vaccin… and their local health boards for available drop-in clinics. 5/5
It is hugely encouraging that Scotland had the highest uptake of vaccines in the UK last winter and I encourage everyone in Argyll and Bute, who hasn’t already done so this winter, to check if they are eligible. 3/5
Getting vaccinated gives you the best possible protection against flu viruses which are circulating this winter. The flu vaccine offers strong protection, while the Covid-19 booster reduces the severity of illness and boosts protection. 1/5
The Labour government’s betrayal of the WASPI Women is utterly shameful.
As many as 6,670 across Argyll and Bute have lost out as a result of a UK government mistake, and many have tirelessly campaigned for decades to right this wrong.

For the Labour Party – after mere months in power – to break their promise to compensate these women is wrong and an enormous breach of trust. 2/3
