Updated predictions, one day out:
🔵 El-Sayed wins Michigan
🔴 Collins holds Maine
🔵 Brown wins Ohio
🔵 Talarico wins Texas
🔵 Peltola wins Alaska
🔵 Hamilton upsets in Kansas
🔴 Hinson wins Iowa
🔴 Ricketts wins Nebraska
🔴 Graham wins SC
One change since Saturday: Ohio. The final polls and the early vote both lean Brown now.
That's a 52-48 Democratic Senate.
Just so we're clear - like many Presidents - Trump's approval ratings started falling the minute he took office. And it appears that they never stopped dropping. Yes, the war with Iran exacerbated an already-exacerbated electorate, but it was more likely the nail in the coffin than the triggering event.
Biden built the boom AND the bust. As Trump learned in this election, he owns it now.
How we got here, in 85 seconds:
• Shutdowns wiped out 22M jobs in two months
• Biden doubled down. Real after-tax income shot 29% above pre-Covid
• Businesses read it as real demand and added 606K jobs a month
• Then inflation: 9% in a year
• The money ran out. Real income fell below its old path and never got back
Today: 7.7M jobs short. Jobs and income both 4.6% below the pre-Covid trend. Prices 14% above it.
No quick fix. The only way out is growth.

I recognize that many of you face significant challenges and uncertainties that cause stress, anxiety, and heartache. I pray for you. I love you.
I am thankful that social media allows me to provide you with encouragement, direction, and a reminder of eternal truths.
Please remember this: whatever difficulties you may be experiencing, Jesus Christ is the way to joy and peace.
People who subscribe to the doctrine of the gospel of Jesus Christ find that it makes their lives happier, more significant, and more resistant to the difficulties we all experience.
You have a Heavenly Father who has provided a plan for you. Trust in Him. With His help, you can find peace despite the trials and obstacles of mortality.
With love,
President Oaks
Exactly. 💯 rating for this
On Vance's statement that "The reason we lost is the war." Looking at exit polls, the top three issues voters described as "crucial or major" factors in determining their votes were (1) "government corruption," named by 90% of the voters, which Democrats won with 56%; (2) "cost of living," named by 89% of all voters, which Democrats won with 58%, and (3) the Iran war, named by 74% of all voters, which Democrats won with 63%. So there was no single reason for a defeat as massive and sprawling as this one. And some of the reasons overlapped, as in the fact that the war was also responsible for some of the voters' concerns about cost of living. But overall, the war was certainly a big part of the voters' decision. And the majority of voters who named the war as a "crucial or major" factor in their vote and voted for Democrats were not the Trump-should-finish-the-job camp. They opposed the war.

The GOP’s Midterm Annihilation Comes Down to One Factor nationalreview.com/2026/11/t…
Just be honest, ok? You lost this election by trying to gaslight people.
Only 1 in 5 Republican voters called the Iran war crucial, fourth of the five issues the exit poll asked about. Immigration came first, just ahead of corruption. Prices hit both sides.
🟦 Voted Democratic for House
🟥 Voted Republican for House
Even when you break it down by each state specifically, the war in Iran was number four on everyone's hot list.

When my two oldest boys (2 yrs, 3 mos apart) were growing up, they fought CONSTANTLY. Sometimes I wasn't sure they'd be friends as adults.
Looking at these pictures from earlier today, when my middle son and his wife emerged from the Washington DC LDS temple after their sealing ceremony, I got emotional. My youngest granddaughter (her dad is my oldest) broke free and ran up to her uncle and aunt, who were clearly overjoyed. Nobody yelled at Princess Buttercup or shooed her away. It was a spontaneous expression of the love she feels for her uncle, who's a constant part of her life, and her sweet aunt. And it's evident now my son and his wife feel about Buttercup.
Take heart, parents whose kids constantly battle! They can still end up as best friends.
I'm so blessed that God gave me these excellent humans to parent.

This is so wrong. I use the magic loop method on circular knitting, not straight needles 🤦🏽♀️
🚨 BREAKING: Marco Rubio has been named acting Assistant Attorney General for Civil Rights, bringing his total number of simultaneous cabinet roles to 14.
He will not be taking requests.
He will be taking more yarn, though. 🧶 @HarmeetKDhillon
I dug into who switched and who stayed home.
• Switchers: 7% of Trump 2024 voters backed a Democrat. The exit poll, NORC and YouGov all land on the same 7%.
• Stay-homes: 76% of Trump voters say they voted. Harris voters: 87%.
• The ones who stayed home weren't diehards. Only 54% approve of Trump, vs. 80% of Trump voters who showed up. Their top reasons: didn't like the candidates, felt their vote didn't matter.
Bottom line: Republicans didn't lose their base. They lost the EDGES of it.
Full write-up with all seven charts and every source: rationalground.com/p/stayed-…
Catholics went from Trump +20 to about even. Independents swung 20 points.
White evangelicals held. LDS voters mostly held. Rural voters moved only about 6.
The core stayed put. The EDGES walked.
Michael and others are convinced that “High Gas Prices” and “War with Iran” are interchangeable proxy measures on on exit polls and voter surveys.
They aren’t. Try as they might the reality is — Isolationism was NOT ON THE BALLOT.
No, it really was The War.

The working class moved more than the college crowd. Swing toward Democrats, 2024 to 2026:
Under $50K: +18
No degree: +15
College grads: +11
$100K+: +8
When groceries and gas are the top worry, the people who feel it most move first.
Latino men swung furthest: Trump +10 in 2024, Democrats +25 in 2026. A 35-point move.
Latino voters overall moved 28 points. Asian voters 25. White voters 13, about the national swing.
Two years ago Latino men were the proof Trump was building something new. This year they were the first to leave.
How did each group move from 2024 to 2026? I averaged four surveys, not just the exit poll.
The young swung hardest. Voters under 30 moved about 27 points toward Democrats. Young men went from even in 2024 to D+28.
Seniors barely moved.
(The exit poll alone has young voters at D+48. The average is D+38.)
