Happy publication day to our @playarchive book! I wrote my bits while pregnant and then co-edited in naptimes and evenings 🙃 Nice to have it out in the world - open access so can be downloaded for free. A huge thank you to all the wonderful contributors!

At the start of this year we got back on the IVF rollercoaster and thankfully it worked ♥️ Little brother for Max due this Autumn. Thank you (again) luck and science ✨🧪
Apologies to those who were planning to attend my guest lecture in Sheffield next week - we’ve had to cancel this due to unforeseen and unavoidable circumstances

Terribly sad news - Morag was one of the most passionate, inspiring and warm academics I have ever had the pleasure to be taught by. She passed on her love of children’s literature and was the first person to tell me I could do a PhD. Thank you Morag.
We are sad to hear of the death of Morag Styles, who did so much to champion #poetry for children and inspired so many through her work, books and teaching. Obituary to follow, meanwhile enjoy her selection of ten of the best poetry books for children booksforkeeps.co.uk/article/…

ALT Photograph of Morag Styles. Morag Styles did the PGCE Course at Homerton College Cambridge in 1970 and taught at the College between 1974 and 2014. She was Primary Language Co-ordinator for some years, latterly dividing her time between research, teaching, supervision of doctoral students and co-ordinating the masters’ route, Critical Approaches to Children’s Literature at Cambridge Faculty of Education. She compiled many poetry anthologies for children and wrote about picture books too. She was a regular contributor to Books for Keeps and will be missed by very many.
