Happy to share our recent paper in @J_A_C_S!
A de novo designed unnatural base pair that exploits halogen bonding as a directional interaction in DNA. We establish halogen bonding as a pairing force for genetic alphabet expansion. 🧬 ⚗️

We had the first retreat with the #PhDstudents of the 2nd cohort this week! The whole TIDE group went to Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler for 3 days. Besides discussing all the exciting new #research activities, there was also time for a tour of the Government Bunker and for socializing.
Back from an exciting visit to Gothenburg @chalmersuniv discussing projects with Marcus @WilhelmssonLab and Fredrik @FWesterlund. Stay tuned for our PhD position offers in the MSCA doctoral network MeChaNiSM! 🎉🧬chalmers.se/en/projects/mech…
