So honored that @HubSpot has been named the #1 software for Marketers by G2! g2.com/best-software-compani…
This applies 10x to companies/brands as it does people.
If you have middle of the road point-of-view, consensus product strategy, and marketing rooted in the average, no one will care at all. Ever.
To quote @Drake “jealousy is just love and hate at the same time”
If you want a brand that your competitors and the market are jealous of you HAVE to be loved and hated.
It is the only path. Get thicker skin. Stand by the courage of your convictions. Be unabashed about the customer you want to love you.
Stripe has become the default agentic financial infrastructure.
Agents will be a major tailwind to their growth.
I cannot tell you how bullish I am on Stripe in the agentic era.
They are the ONLY connector inside Grok Bot that have the kind of granular permissions + human-in-the-loop prompts I *expect* for agents.
Every other connector - like ones from Google for eg Gmail or Docs - feel hopelessly amateur. Like WHY do I not have a way to have the Gmail connector ask for this kind of user permission before it lets an agent read any *sensitive* emails like password reset ones etc.
Stripe ygmi and I have no idea why others are not copying the very least what Stripe does
This was a remarkably detailed review. The thought, care and shot selection is really top notch.

To understand the opportunity to disrupt Amazon you would need to be right on why they are banning agents from shopping. Some thoughts on that:
1. Amazon is a low margin business. When agents can do deep price comparison or search ever hour until an item reaches a given price level, it erodes a lot of the already low margin Amazon is working with.
2. Amazon doesn’t want to destroy its advertising business which generates 80 billion dollars in revenue with 40 billion of that estimated to be profitable. Agent web traffic is a major threat to all human driven advertising businesses and Amazon has a big one.
3. They don’t want to be disinter-mediated. Right now Amazon is the top search destination for shopping. They don’t want to hand that over to Meta, Google, Open AI or SpaceX and become just your average shopping site that is one of many on the back end an agent looks at.
So a disruptor’s challenge is both speed of getting to market scale but also innovating on new business models for marketplace e-commerce. Not impossible, but not easy.
It will likely be a headless marketplace with deep integration to where people already spend their time. It likely will have meaningful rev share deals with those platforms instead of advertising. It will have to find how to get pricing power in an agentic world .
This makes @grokbot the most powerful tool for prospecting against X.com data on the planet. Any smart person who wants to grow their biz should do the following right now.
1. Build a Grok Bot for each use case of their product or service offering.
2. Give each bot the full context of that product and service offering. Pricing, features, case studies, customer reviews, all of it.
3. Have each bot look at the last 30 days of posts and comments where people are talking about that use case on X.com
4. Have it return those posts and profiles as well as any profile data in a spreadsheet.
5. Integrate data enrichment services to get phone and email for those contacts.
6. Have your bot build a scoring model based on past customers.
7 Call, message or email the best fit people.
8. Make 💰

SEO is dead, even for the company that invented it.
According to @kippbodnar, HubSpot lost 140 MILLION search visits in about a year!!
Insane story, and they wrote a book about how they adapted.
TLDR it's creators, YouTube, and showing up organically in LLMs. (Starter Story acquisition makes more sense now!)
Worth picking up.
It’s launch day. 🚀🚀🚀
Loop: Outlearn. Outmarket. Outgrow. is officially out.♾️
I helped scale the marketing playbook AI is now breaking.
We had to rebuild our own. Today that rebuild becomes a book. 📖
For 15+ years at HubSpot, the job was clear: create useful content, get discovered, earn trust, turn trust into customers.
Then buyers started getting answers without visiting websites. AI made content cheap. Almost everyone’s response to less attention was produce more — including companies already producing too much.
When you’ve gotten good at something, it’s easy to confuse “this worked” with “this will keep working.”
So Kieran Flanagan and I wrote Loop — a practical way forward for marketers who need Monday to look different.
The idea: your marketing should get smarter every time you run it.
A customer objection improves your next ad. That ad sharpens your positioning. That positioning makes the next conversation better. Every cycle raises the floor for the next one.
That’s the system:
• Express — your point of view and why you’re worth choosing
• Tailor — make that story relevant to the person buying
• Amplify — show up where people actually discover, evaluate, and decide
• Evolve — feed what you learn back into everything next
We tested it inside HubSpot. The book brings the framework, the tools, and a 90-day plan to run it with your team.
AI gives your competitors the same tools you have. Your advantage is what you understand about your customers — and how fast you turn that into better marketing.
To the HubSpot team, the Marketing Against the Grain community, and everyone who challenged these ideas along the way: thank you. You made this book better.
If you own growth and you’re asking what your team should do differently on Monday — start here. Loop is live.

Are you in the loop?
The shift from inbound to the loop is here.
AI is changing the way brands show up online. Thank you to the team at @hubspot for this copy of “Loop” by @kippbodnar and Kieran Flanagan.
Thanks to the @unboundevent team.
The day before I take the keynote stage at #UNBOUND in Boston, my episode on the Marketing Against The Grain podcast dropped today.
This was a fun conversation. We talk about the rise of the solopreneur (1 person companies) and YouSpot (the AI-native CRM for those solopreneurs).
Let me know what you think or if you have any questions.
