Brian O’Connor checks every box Selmon is looking for in Mississippi State’s next head baseball coach. A proven winner with a National Championship, 7 College World Series appearances, over 900 career wins, and an elite .705 winning percentage. He’s also developed 102 MLB Draft picks—a true developer of talent and culture. 🏆 What he built at Virginia is nothing short of remarkable—transforming a program with limited baseball tradition into a perennial powerhouse. That’s no small feat in the ACC, and speaks volumes about his vision, leadership, and ability to sustain excellence. O’Connor is a man of faith, something that deeply aligns with the Mississippi State community and values. He leads with integrity, connects with his players, and represents a program the right way on and off the field. Financially, Mississippi State could offer a substantial increase from his current salary. More importantly, he’d be stepping into a fan base that lives and breathes baseball, with unmatched facilities and support. There are a handful of exciting candidates out there—but very few, if any, have the resume, character, and championship pedigree of Brian O’Connor. If this were to happen, it would be a true home-run hire—one the entire fan base could unite behind. When both of our baseball seasons are complete (Mississippi State & Virginia), it’s worth stating that: Brian O’Connor is the A+ pick for STATE.

ONLY an estimated 33% of eligible voters in the state of Mississippi came out to vote. The turnout in 2024 was 57%. The turnout in 2022 was 32%. The turnout in 2020 was 60%. The turnout in 2018 was 44%. This is proving that Mississippians are just lazy. It takes 10-20 minutes of your time to go to your precinct and vote. If you don’t vote in local, state, or country-wide elections, then you don’t have a right to have a say what happens around you.

100%. People who put their trust in politicians don’t read scripture. Put your faith in Jesus and not man. However, it is important to pray for our leaders no matter who is in power. Don’t forget who you serve and forget who is in control.
The Bible never promised that the world would get better before Christ returns. It promised that it would get much, much worse.

People are tired of lifelong failed politicians.
If you thought SC and Texas was a shock, go look at Mississippi....Colom just took the lead over Hyde-Smith

Any candidate that Trump endorsed got negative publicity. People are tired of Trump. Americans are. He hasn’t held up the promises that he made. Far worse this presidency than the last. He lost this election for republicans because he is so far out of touch with everyday Americans.

Republicans will be at fault when America turns into a Muslim and socialist nation. They’ve sat on their ass for two years and done zilch for the American people. Choosing greed over serving the people who put them in. Republicans should be ashamed of themselves for what they’ve done. Start acting for the people instead of being a sellout.

I think this team is going to be the best team Purcell has ever had. Talented team.

Man this is such a loser’s mentality. What Mississippi State has done in the past doesn’t in the slightest reflect our ceiling of what we can do as we head into the future. Mississippi State CAN win at the highest level in all of college football. However, you have to have people inside the organization that actually believe they can do it.

It’s appalling how fans think this program has been or will ever be a powerhouse lol

It’s appalling how there are “fans” at State who consider 5-6 wins a successful season.

In all seriousness, I’m for retaining Coach Lebby. I’m all for giving him another 2-6 years to try and figure it out. The pay is going to have to come down though and go forward with better/ proven assistants. Including not just an ELITE strength coach, but an entire strength staff.

Things keep getting worse and worse for Mississippi State. Now that Ohio State has lost, Ole Miss’ Trinidad Chambliss is now the leading candidate to win the Heisman trophy award.

Amazes me so many “State fans” are content with scoring 3 points on the road. There are a lot of fans in this fanbase who love mediocrity. It is appalling to see some many enjoy being average.

Not sure what you were expecting with the absence of KT on the road but I can tell you it certainly isn’t rational

2027 is Lebby’s extension year for FOUR seasons. If he does well, he will receive a massive raise. If he can’t even be competitive without Kamario, what makes people think he will be competitive post-Kamario. Sounds like there’s a big chance we are going to get stuck with a big bill after going 7-5 or 8-4.

I am not a proponent of defunding football, but Lebby is 3-19 in SEC play. We have 16 losses minimum that had nothing to do with the K1 injury.

It is going to take everyone in our locker room to take down Vanderbilt and Tennessee Tech. Both teams have shown to competitive in big games.
