Lovely note, Tim. Haven't had one ourselves in a while, might have to try one soon with lamb. Cheers!
Absolutely loving this 2019 @legrappin Santenay 1er Cru tonight. Beautiful, crystal-clear red fruits that are just singing in the glass this evening alongside some roast lamb. I know @AngieYWine will appreciate this…!

Unacceptable. Get a thesaurus.
Question - is it acceptable these days to describe a wine as ‘masculine’ or ‘feminine’? Many winemakers still do. Would be interested to hear people’s views…

It may be pretentious, but living in an oak barrel is the only way to ensure that everything you taste has a smooth, velvety finish. bit.ly/3zo0tCv

Absolutely. A big reason we use DIAM. I am poor at best at picking cork taint, often attributing it to a bad bottle/variation.
The worst bottle is the one that's faulty but not faulty enough that you can tell, leaving you to think that this is how the wine is. Last time I had that experience, I was with the winemaker who was able to tell me and open another bottle, but this only highlighted the problem.

Go naked!
I really dislike wax but apparently it sells wine?

The new wine duty is being talked of as a "tax on red wine." It's more than that. Even the duty on a bottle with an abv of 12% is going to rise. Pretty much all still wine drinkers - including rosé drinkers will pay more. And our wine tax will be higher than it is in any EU state

What are we going to do with it if it comes home, anyway? We've turned its old bedroom into the study.

Happens to the best of us, even those that aren’t suffering from a possible injury or illness.
McEnroe told the truth. Ms Raducuna’s a talented player but couldn’t handle the pressure & quit when she was losing badly. Not ‘brave’, just a shame. If I were her, I’d tell my fans to stop abusing McEnroe, & seek his advice on how to toughen up & become a champion like he was.

Suicide has been the third highest cause of death among agriculturists in France for about a decade. If I remember correctly, it has hit livestock farmers the hardest. But there is no question that the past year or so has been very tough on some winemakers. The problem is real.
