Thanks for the kind words, Mary.
Love that your little one is into Otis and the Tornado!
@lorenlong appreciation post. I’ve read these books to my 2 year old more times than I can count. He has Otis and the Tornado memorized. These books are such great stories about friendship and bravery. Parents, bring Otis home to your kids. You won’t regret it
Looking forward to this, thanks for having me!

Received a letter from a retired bus driver named Phyllis. Wrote her back. Here’s the original note from Phyllis and the follow-up. Thank you, Phyllis, for sharing The Yellow Bus. I think you say it all best--life is like a bus, indeed. @MacKidsBooks @MacKidsSL

Thoughtful and evocative depiction of the mostly sounds (and sights) of home, when it is safe and comforting and when it isn’t. Love is what brings you back together safely. Fabulous and feeling illustrations ❤️swimming dog. 5⭐️ @mattdelapena @lorenlong @DISD_Libraries #bookaday

Thanks to the special educators and readers in Iowa for enthusiastically greeting me and letting me share my life and work.
I’ll think of your warmth when I’m all alone in my studio tomorrow.
