♦️Once the regime’s chokehold of repression / economic isolation loosens, Iranian will organize & reshape their future from within.
⚠️The historical shorthand is imprecise— 1953 was a CIA-backed initiative; But, 1979 was an indigenous revolution the U.S. neither engineered nor controlled.
👉Those distinctions matter.
👉The practical lesson: externally imposed regime change has a weak record of producing stable, legitimate outcomes. Why❓The day-after problem remains real.
👉The useful implication is therefore clear: Pressure that starves ordinary Iranians while leaving the security apparatus intact has not opened the political space.
♦️Give Iranians the agency they have long lacked. That is the path consistent w/ both realism & the people who must live with the result.
