The Maldives Destination Guide 2027 has been officially launched at WTM London 2026.
The launch continues the annual tradition of unveiling the destination's official guide at WTM London. The 2027 edition features the Maldives' tourism experiences and travel information. It is a resource for international trade partners and for visitors planning their holidays.
Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Mohamed Ameen, met with Ms. Patricia Yates, Chief Executive of VisitBritain, on the sidelines of WTM London 2026.
The meeting focused on strengthening engagement between the two tourism bodies, with views exchanged on tourism promotion and market development. Both sides also explored opportunities for knowledge-sharing and closer ties between the tourism industries of the Maldives and the United Kingdom.

The Minister highlighted Visit Maldives Year 2027, which marks 55 years of tourism in the Maldives. The meeting also covered recent developments in the country's tourism sector.

The meeting noted the importance of the Maldives to ABTA members, most of whom sell the destination, and discussed strengthening cooperation with the UK travel industry.

The Minister highlighted Visit Maldives Year 2027 and said the Government will continue to work together with the travel trade. On behalf of the Government, the Minister also thanked dnata and the Maldives' travel trade partners for being part of the destination's success.

Highlighting the national vision behind the initiative, Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Mohamed Ameen, said: "Visit Maldives Year 2027 is a shared national journey to bring our people and the entire tourism industry together in showcasing the very best of the Maldives to the world. Let us make 2027 a year to remember as we celebrate the sunny side of life with the world."
From resort celebrations and local island festivals to cultural experiences, culinary events, wellness, adventure and marine activities, Visit Maldives Year 2027 will be a year-long celebration of everything that makes the Maldives unique.
World Travel Market (WTM) London 2026 is now under way at ExCeL London, running from 3 to 5 November.
The Maldives is taking part with a delegation of 161 representatives, including 136 participants from 62 tourism companies, with the participation of Minister of Tourism and Civil Aviation, Hon. Mohamed Ameen.
Over the three days, Maldivian tourism businesses will meet international buyers, strengthen commercial relationships and showcase their offerings to the global travel industry. As one of the world's leading travel trade events, WTM London is a key platform for reaching the Maldives' European and other international markets.
