The leadership style that works for a team of 5 will not work for a team of 50.
In this video, @gkbalogs breaks down why.
When your team is small, you can be hands-on, make every call, and fix things as they happen. But as you grow, that same style becomes the bottleneck. Scaling your team means changing how you lead: how you delegate, how you hold people accountable, and how you make decisions.
That's what Leadership Intelligence is about. As your business grows, your leadership has to grow with it.
He'll be taking this much deeper at the Structure & Scale

🚨 AFRICANS! FULLY FUNDED MASTER’S IN FRANCE FOR 2027! 🇫🇷
Full Tuition + Living Expenses For 2 Years!
And the official Mastercard Foundation scholarship application link is now available!
Sciences Po, a prestigious university in Paris, is accepting applications from eligible African students for its 2027 Mastercard Foundation Scholars Program!
Level: Two-year Master’s
Eligible: African citizens who meet the scholarship requirements
Age: Under 35 as of September 1, 2026
Funding includes:
✅ Full tuition
✅ Living expenses in France
✅ Reserved student housing
✅ Mentorship and career support
Deadlines:
November 23, 2026 — earlier admission decision
I’m
December 14, 2026 — later admission decision
3 IMPORTANT THINGS I FOUND WHILE CHECKING THE OFFICIAL REQUIREMENTS:
1. Not every African graduate qualifies!
Your university must be on Sciences Po’s approved list, OR you must qualify through an approved bridging programme or refugee-status pathway.
2. You need TWO application steps!
Verify your scholarship eligibility through the Mastercard platform AND create your Sciences Po Master’s admission application.
Missing the second step could cost you your application fee waiver!
3. Please write your own scholarship essays!
Sciences Po explicitly cautions against AI-generated responses. They want authentic experiences, critical thinking, leadership and evidence of your commitment to Africa’s development.
⚠️ Already have a Master’s degree? Unfortunately, this particular scholarship isn’t for you.
I personally checked the university’s application instructions because I want you to understand the requirements BEFORE spending time applying! 👇

I spoke about residencies in my video series on fully funded opportunities beyond Master’s and PhD scholarships. This is an example of a residency.
Applications are now open for the Anthropic Residency, a paid, fixed-term research program for academics, technical founders, and staff-level engineers who want to make AI safe and beneficial for everyone. No ML background is required.
Apply by November 22: alignment.anthropic.com/2026…

Shoutout to the applicant with a microbiology background who applied to my Politics PhD slot with a wet-lab proposal. Unless you're planning to run a regression model on how bacteria vote, please check the department name before hitting send. 🔬🗳️❌
I do Env. Pol., not Env. Sci.
Dear graduate, congratulations on making it this far. But graduation is only the beginning of another journey. Beyond your certificate, there are important decisions, habits, and skills that will shape your next chapter. Pay attention to these 15 lessons:
1. Don't wait for a job to gain experience. Volunteer, intern, take up projects, and find ways to apply what you know.
2. Learn a skill outside your degree. Give yourself an additional advantage in the job market.
3. Don't stop learning. Your degree is a foundation, not the finish line.
4. Build genuine relationships. Your network can expose you to opportunities you may never find online.
5. Learn how to communicate. Being knowledgeable is good. Being able to express your knowledge is even better.
6. Take your finances seriously. Learn budgeting, saving, investing, and responsible spending.
7. Don't apply for jobs blindly. Research organisations and tailor your applications.
8. Build a strong professional presence. Take LinkedIn seriously. Let people see what you know and what you can do.
9. Document your achievements. Keep records of projects, responsibilities, and results. They will come in handy when updating your CV.
10. Don't despise small opportunities. Your first opportunity doesn't have to be your dream job.
11. Learn to solve problems. Employers value people who can think critically and find solutions.
12. Be intentional about mentorship. Find people whose career journeys you admire and learn from their experiences.
13. Don't compare your timeline with others. Everyone's journey is different. Focus on your own growth.
14. Learn to take feedback. Not every correction is an attack. Sometimes, it is exactly what you need to improve.
15. Take responsibility for your growth. Nobody will be more invested in your career than you should be.
Remember, you don't have to figure everything out immediately. Give yourself room to learn, make mistakes, explore opportunities, and grow.

The ultimate form of preparation is not planning for a specific scenario, but a mindset than can handle uncertainty.
Help shape the next generation of scholars!
We’re looking for mentors in the fields listed below. If you’d like to share your experience and guide an emerging scholar, we’d love to hear from you.
We matched the 2026 Michael Taiwo Scholars with their mentors, and the group chat hasn't been quiet since.
One scholar has met his mentor three times in eight days. Another found out his mentor shares his surname, a first outside his own family. One spent two hours with his mentor mapping out next steps. Others are already working through GRE prep and application timelines.
And one scholar summed it up this way: "I feel the mentors were handpicked."
They were.
Getting into graduate school takes more than strong grades. It takes someone who has walked the road before, someone who can tell you what to prioritize, when to submit, and how to make every application count. That's what our mentorship programme is built for.
To every mentor giving their time to this cohort: thank you. You're changing trajectories.
Swipe through to hear it in the scholars' own words

Also at times , procrastinating makes it harder to win even with the same effort and credentials, policies changes , sponsors priorities change , why save for later something you can do now?

This is the exact advice my mentor who was an executive at @Shell_Nigeria gave me when I wrapped up my internship in 2018 . I had the chance to be the inaugural speaker for the @Shell IT Alumni series. All the undergraduates kept asking me , what to do now and I said “Graduate with the highest grade possible” as that can amplify and diminish your efforts after graduation.
Solid advice.
A 2:2 can limit your options in ways you might not fully know until you're ready to apply for certain jobs, scholarships, graduate programmes or other opportunities that require a minimum of a 2:1.
And the frustrating part is that some of these opportunities may not even consider how talented you are or what you can do. Your grade could be enough to disqualify you before you get the chance to prove yourself.
Please, whatever side hustle, business or other activity you're doing in school, learn to keep it on one side, especially if it isn't paying a major bill or putting food on your table.
I'm not saying don't build other things while in school. By all means, learn skills, explore opportunities and make money if you can.
But don't get so carried away building other things that you neglect the one thing you came to school to do.
Lock in. Get the grades. Keep your options open.
You can always build on your skills, grow a business and explore other interests after graduation.
But some academic opportunities have strict grade requirements, and no amount of explaining how talented you are will change them.
Your result doesn't determine your entire future, but it can determine which doors you get to knock on.
Take it seriously.

A woman in my DMs offered to review my scholarship application for free.
Three days later, my essay was on her paid course page.
I had been rejected twice. When she offered free feedback, I sent her everything:
my essay about growing up in a one-room apartment, my CV, my references.

Sustainability goes beyond reducing carbon emissions and managing waste. It also means protecting workers, promoting fair opportunities and considering the communities affected by business activities.
A truly sustainable business puts people at the centre of its decisions.

I am accepting applications from prospective students either via the 1+3.5 route (masters + PhD) or 3.5 route (PhD only) in comparative and/or environmental politics, to be funded through the North West Social Science Doctoral Training Partnership (NWSSDTP) competition.
Send me a strong proposal showing:
- your command of the literature
- gaps in the literature
- potential contributions to the literature
- proposed method (causal experiment, and mixed methods preferred as these are often in short supply and encouraged by NWSSDTP)
Send me your proposal and CV.
