For years, there's been agreement across the political spectrum that we're in a housing crisis. That's why I'm so proud to be part of @OneCityVan, a party unafraid to propose solutions that actually match the scale of the problem. Terrific coverage of our 1st housing plank here:

The #BroadwayPlan + #BroadwaySubway are an incredible opportunity to create a Broadway with fewer cars, and more space for people to move & gather. A Broadway for Families, for Seniors, for Community, for PEOPLE. That's what I want. 🧵👇🏾 Add your voice: onecity.good.do/broadway/wri…

Here's what I am proposing: More trees & benches. More space to gather & move. A safe active transportation lane. And fewer cars. A safer, healthier, more livable Broadway for all. But I need Council's support. Help by adding your voice and sharing: onecity.good.do/broadway/wri…

Some very disappointing and frustrating news - Directions Youth Detox will be closing as soon as June. VCH has pulled their funding. When staff asked why, they were told that at-home detox is best. Here's a big problem - most of the youth who access Directions don't have homes.

I have been impressed by @OneCityVan and @christineeboyle and so a few weeks back I joined the party. I started researching the candidates running for Park Board, School Board and City Council. 1 in 🪡

Wow. Looks like @OneCityVan members picked my dream team of city council candidates. Experience in urban planning, policy, indigenous rights, culture, and basically getting good shit done. Congrats @christineeboyle @iona_bonamis @ICromwell4Van @MrMatthewNorris

82% of 1200 or so members voted, using proportional representation (STV). It's pretty unheard of engagement in #vanpoli, I think. Only shitty thing: the excellent candidates who weren't elected (truly excellent). I hope very much they stay engaged with us. We need them, too.
I was really impressed with @OneCityVan's transparent, democratic nomination process.

I've been privileged to work on the process that has nominated these folks for @OneCityVan's election campaign in the fall. Pls. check them out: who they are, what they do. It's a remarkable team. They're young and experienced, and actually represent who lives in this city.
