claude opus 5 is a beast for laravel dev. i just hooked it into the laravel 13 mcp tools. Client::local() now maps directly to my mariaDB vector indexes. no more context switching. the llm finally has direct access.
MariaDB can now run @duckdb inside the server.
Create a table with ENGINE=DuckDB and analytical queries run through DuckDB's columnar engine, in-process — no ETL, no separate warehouse. InnoDB and DuckDB tables side by side, joinable in one query.

The problem it solves: MariaDB's InnoDB is great at transactions, but ask it to scan tens of millions of rows for a multi-way join and a row store has to work hard. The usual fix is a second analytical system + ETL. This puts the analytical engine in the same server instead.
