On a freezing December night in 1997, President Bill Clinton noticed a homeless veteran outside the Kennedy Center holding a sign reading, “Marine. Desert Storm. Hungry.” Rather than ignore him, Clinton removed his coat, sat beside the shivering man, and listened to his story. When the veteran revealed he had not eaten for two days, Clinton arranged for food and stayed until he finished. Moved by the encounter, Clinton promised to help him rebuild his life and contacted the Department of Veterans Affairs. The story reminds us that compassion, dignity, and a simple human connection can restore hope when someone feels forgotten.

Great time at @cdl_concerts to close out Marktober. Terrific program of Halloween Scores by the @OrchidQuartet. The only thing missing was a little Jerry Goldsmith (after all, if they could play Ave Satane at the Oscars) & Komeda's Rosemary's Baby, but delightful nonetheless.
