On this day in 1999, MF DOOM released his debut studio album 'Operation: Doomsday.' He recorded the classic project over a three week period, in between naps. @MFDOOM sampled everything from cartoon soundtracks to '80s soul and rap tracks. In a 1999 interview with Life Sucks Die Magazine, he shared his artistic approach: "A lot of these rappers out here, they got the public looking at them like they're the character they're talking about in the song. See, when I do music each song is like a scene, like part of a screenplay."
